Der erste Sonntag im September is in Südtirol der Schutzengelsonntag. Im Sarntal ist es der Kirchtag. Am ersten Tag ist das Rösslbrennen. Da wird allen Haflingerfohlen, die ins Herdbuch aufgenommenen werden, ein Edelweib auf den Schenkel gebrannt.
