Antonio leaves Italy for Berlin, to reach his friend Peppino, who plays the miserable employment of "magliaro". Since he is very poor, Antonio makes a pact with the former Nazi colonel Attila Canarinis, which is his perfect double, so that in West Berlin he will be tried by the Americans for war crimes. Antonio is innocent at the trial, but the commissions for him are not finished, because being in Est Berlin, is exchanged by the Russians for a secret agent, for a misinterpretation of the Neapolitan book "La smorfia".
