Un hombre hace creer a la gente de su pueblo que ha obtenido éxito y prosperidad económica en la ciudad, ocultando su verdadero fracaso. Una joven llega entonces del pueblo, solicitándole ayuda de sus supuestas influencias para su carrera de concertista de piano. El farsante se verá en figurillas para disimular la verdad.
