Frank Carter, Leach, Jake and Carlos attack a Shoshone village on the Secora River, and kill and scalp the squaws and the old men while the warriors are out hunting, then return to sell the scalps on the border. Chief Black Feather protests the violation of the peace treaty, while the young warrior Buffalo Horn, whose fiancee was the victim of the massacre, takes up arms against the whites with his supporters. Colonel Stanton charges Captain Ed Trask, Carter's ex-companion, to hunt down the gang and bring them back alive to execute them in front of the Indians.
