"Who is saving whom?" is not just another bank rescue and Euro rescue film. It reveals much more what it is that all the "rescues" hide, right up to the present day tragedy of Greece. „Wer Rettet Wen?“ ist kein weiterer Banken- oder Eurorettungsfilm. Er deckt auf, was bei allen „Rettungen“ bis zum heutigen Griechenlanddrama weitgehend verborgen blieb: Die radikale Veränderung der Gesellschaften in Europa. Die als „Rettung“ verkleisterte Umwandlung privater Schulden in öffentliche, hat nicht nur die Demokratie ad absurdum geführt. Sie erschüttert Gesellschaften, die sich als Sozialer Rechtsstaat begreifen, in den Grundfesten. Niemand formuliert dies im Film treffender als Mario Draghi, der als einstiger Goldman Sachs-Vizepräsident und EZB-Präsident die Wirtschaft des Euroraums lenkt: „Das europäische Sozialmodell ist Vergangenheit. Die Rettung des Euro wird viel Geld kosten. Das bedeutet, vom europäischen Sozialmodell Abschied zu nehmen." Seit sieben Jahren wird mit vielen hundert Milliarden öffentlicher Gelder gerettet.
