Ian Carmichael

Ian Gillett Carmichael, OBE was an English actor who, most notably, could play fool parts in a way that did not cut the characters completely off from human sympathy: a certain dignity was always maintained. Honored as an OBE in 2003, his last (recurring) appearance was on the TV series The Royal in 2009.
