David Tree

David Tree Parsons was an English stage and screen actor from a distinguished theatrical family. During the war in 1940, Tree sustained an injury that led to him leaving acting and becoming a gentleman farmer, where he chronicled his successes, failures and adventures as a postwar farmer in the autobiography, Pig in the Middle, the book that became the basis for the 1975–78 sitcom The Good Life
