Apnea, girato interamente all’Acquario di Genova, è la storia di Mattia (Giovanni Arezzo, Ris delitti imperfetti, Il commissario Montalbano) impiegato come esperto informatico presso l’Acquario di Genova che in seguito a quello che sembrava essere solo un tragico incidente, finisce sulla sedia a rotelle perdendo l’uso delle gambe. Il giovane durante un movimentato turno di notte, si ritrova faccia a faccia con lo spietato serial killer che sta uccidendo uno dopo l’altro i suoi colleghi e amici, disseminando paura e terrore all’interno dell’Acquario.
