北京某娛樂報社記者小米（李小璐 飾）與婦產科醫生金亮（王雷 飾）地下戀多年，偷偷領了結婚證。此事在小米家引起了軒然大波。小米父母早年離婚，母親王淑華（宋丹丹 飾）寡居，而父親米范（范明 飾）已經續絃。本來，王淑華希望小米找個北京男，誰想冒出個北漂男，而且還生命煮成熟飯。 這令她大為惱火，大動干戈，心臟病都犯了，在前夫的勸說下，好歹接受了這個現實。不過，辦婚禮的地點又卻引發了雙方新的戰爭。來自東北煤礦金亮爸為他們購置了新房，並進行了裝修。但是希望婚禮在瀋陽舉行。這遭到了王淑華的堅決反對，她堅持婚禮要在北京辦。後來，小兩口為了都不得罪，打算改旅行結婚。結果，王淑華堅持要陪小兩口旅行結婚當電燈泡……雙方互不相讓，你來我往，各顯神通。令金亮與小米夾在中間，左右為難。他們的愛情經受得住這此起彼伏的考驗嗎
