情場、商場、官場，多少繁華銷魂事，情人、商人、官人，愛恨一生俱白頭。光緒年間，國勢衰微，八國聯軍侵入北京，義和團風起雲湧，大清王朝處於風雨飄搖的動盪局面之中。人稱“白銀谷”的山西太谷，康家票號“天成元”是個中翹楚，康家掌門人康老太爺，一生游刃於官與商之間，品味著盛衰榮辱，看淡了生死情義，一心要把康家票號打造成強盛的“白銀王朝”。官宦小姐杜筠清和康家三爺一見鍾情，兩情相悅。但命運捉弄人，最終嫁給了年逾古稀的康老太爺。官吏壓榨、擠兌風潮、對頭暗算、兄弟反目…… 保守、改良兩股勢力此消彼長；康家面臨著內憂外患的雙重壓力。經過一番明爭暗鬥，三爺最終執掌了康家大權，但他一生最愛的女人杜筠清此時卻飄然遠去。兩個傾心相愛的人始終不能相守。最終，名利轉眼之間成為過眼雲煙，康老太爺此時頓悟，白銀王朝只不過是一場春夢…
