Birbirlerine çılgınlar gibi aşık, ama çocukları olmayan bakkal Vahit ve eşi Zeliha, yıllar önce köyden İstanbul'a kaçmışlardır. Vahit, babasını ikna ederek kelepir bir ahşap evi satın almıştır. Vahit ve Zeliha, bu evi yıllarca öğrenci gençlere kiralayarak hem geçimlerine katkı sağlarlar, hem de öğrencilere bir ana gibi sahip çıkan Zeliha'nın çocuk özlemini dindirmeye çalışırlar.
