阿佐ヶ谷姉妹による同名エッセーが原作。本当の姉妹ではないが、仕事も生活も共にする「阿佐ヶ谷姉妹」が個性豊かな“ご近所さん”を巻き込みながら、理想の暮らし方を見つける姿を描く。涙もろく、寂しがり屋の姉・渡辺江里子を木村多江が、しっかり者でマイペースの妹・木村美穂を安藤玉恵が演じる。
