Konstabel Samuel skal på sin første mission til Letland. Hans mor forstår ikke, at han er villig til at gå i krig for Danmark. I Oksbøl skal de værnepligtige beslutte sig for, om de vil fortsætte i hæren.
Private Samuel is heading to Latvia on his first mission. His mother cannot understand why he is willing to go to war for Denmark. At Oksbøl, the conscripts must decide whether to continue in the army.
