Annie und Eric erfahren am Telefon, dass Mary schwanger ist. Als sie ihre Tochter und Wilson damit konfrontieren, weist Mary die Anschuldigung als Hirngespinst zurück. Bald stellt sich tatsächlich heraus, dass die Tests vertauscht wurden: Annie ist diejenige, die ein Kind erwartet!
Der Colonel und Oma Ruth sowie Opa C.J. und Ginger kommen zu Besuch und lösen wieder einmal die Probleme ihrer Enkel. Der Colonel lässt seine Beziehungen spielen und sorgt dafür, dass Hilary Clinton persönlich Matt einen Ferienjob im Weißen Haus anbietet. Unterdessen nerven die Praktikanten Jimmy und Rod anfänglich alle im Hause Camden, kitten aber geschickt die Beziehung von Lucy und Kenny. Matt hält seine Ansprache als Jahrgangsbester – gleichzeitig sein Abschied von der Familie und Glenoak.
In the second season finale, Eric and Annie are shocked and saddened that Mary might be pregnant after a talk with her doctor over the phone. Meanwhile, Matt makes an announcement that he is leaving home sooner than expected so he can begin a summer training program in Washington D.C. Although, Matt soon realizes that "The Colonel" was the real reason of how he got into the program and must decide whether he should take it or not. Also, Simon and Ruthie are despondent when Happy's original owner comes to claim her. The family then tries their best efforts into getting her back. Also, Annie's father, Charles and Ginger create a false engagement to discourage Eric and Annie when trying to rescue Happy with the rest of the family---but later on make the engagement real. Lastly, a big surprise is waiting in the wing for Eric and Annie as they discover something wonderful.
Annie découvre qu'elle est enceinte. Matt ne veut plus de son job à la maison blanche quand il apprend que son grand père l'a pistonné. Les anciens propriétaires d'Happy essayent de la récupérer. Le père d'Annie et Ginger annoncent qu'ils vont se marier.
