Ángela Bellati es una bella maestra que vive con su madre, con quien tiene algunas diferencias. Antes de morir, Delia le confiesa la historia de su padre y Emilia Santillana, la mujer que la traicionó. Ángela decide ir a buscar esa verdad a San Miguel, y es ahí donde conoce su destino y el amor junto al ingeniero Mariano Bautista.
