Edison has made kazoos for the Rastepappe orchestra; the craze takes over the whole island. The music attracts thousands and thousands of cockatoos that become a real nuisance on the island. How will the friends get rid of them?
Rastepappe is very proud of its new fire station, unfortunately Archduke forgot to appoint any fire fighters. Luckily Archibald and friends volunteer to help out. Follow their adventures as the over zealous fire fighters do their job, hindering all the preparations for the annual celebration!
Something strange is going on in Rastepappe, things keep disappearing: Archibald's magnifying glass, Archduke's crown and archducal sash, the Rastepappean flag and most of the school children. And what about the strange moving island that has mysteriously appeared? Could there be a link between all these events?
Agatha's new novel is a great success. Archduke asks Giovanni to hold an official reception for the writer. Giovanni suddenly announces that the Opera House will close for renovations. The friends rally round to help, but Giovanni does all he can to prevent the work from being completed. Could Rastepappe's greatest artist be jealous?
Sullivan is snowed under with work. Gazette tries to help him but just makes matters worse. The printer has had enough and leaves. Gazette and Edison try to take over the print shop but the results are dreadful! Can Sullivan be persuaded to come back to work?
The inhabitants of Rastepappe wake up one morning to find that it has snowed on the big hill for the first time in the island's history. Archibald is not convinced that this is a natural phenomenon and sets off to find out who or what is behind this extraordinary weather.
Flowers are disappearing from gardens all over Rastepappe. But who could be stealing them? Soufflé to decorate his restaurant? Iris for the flower shop? It could be almost anyone. Archibald is determined to get to the bottom of the mystery.
All is not well, Archduke has lost his appetite and food keeps disappearing from people's kitchens overnight. The two occurrences couldn't possibly be connected...or could they? Archibald investigates this very serious matter.
