Johnson-Thompson begins her second day of competition in the long jump before switching to javelin, traditionally one of her weaker events despite recent signs of improvement. It is also the day of the men's and women's marathons, while on the track the action includes the opening round of the men's 110m and 400m hurdles, the former featuring Britain's European indoor champion Andrew Pozzi.
