Abschlussball auf der West Beverly High: Brandon und Brenda haben beide noch keinen Partner. Doch in letzter Minute ergattern sie noch eine Einladung. Brandon and Andrea discover that the school board has quietly passed a measure in which any senior found drunk at the prom will be barred from graduation. Jackie tells David and Kelly that she has sold the house. Brandon and Brenda do not plan to attend the prom. Brenda accepts an invitation from football star Tony Miller, and Andrea calls Brandon at the last minute after Jordan gets the flu. Donna is surprised when her mother gives her permission to stay out all night. David rents a hotel room for the night. Mel serves champagne at a pre-prom party, and everyone except Dylan and Andrea drinks. Donna gets drunk (partially because she also hadn't eaten all day) and becomes very ill. The gang tries to sneak her out of the hotel, but she faints right in front of Mrs. Teasley. Brandon and Andrea check out a hotel room that Tony had presumptuously reserved, and Andrea gets a little carried away. Il ballo di fine anno si avvicina e gli studenti del West Beverly ricevono una brutta notizia dalla commissione scolastica: a qualsiasi studente ubriaco alla festa verrà impedito di diplomarsi. Tutti cercano un appuntamento per il ballo ma i gemelli Walsh si trovano da soli. Mel Silver, il padre di David, serve champagne alla festa pre-ballo a casa sua e Donna, quasi astemia, comincia a sertirne gli effetti.
Se acerca el baile de promoción en el Hotel Belage y con Kathy Dennis como cantante, y ni Brandon ni Brenda tienen pareja. Brandon le pide a Andrea que vaya con él a la fiesta, pero Andrea ya ha quedado en ir con Jordan, hasta que este coge la gripe y acepta la invitación de su amigo. Brenda también encuentra pareja, un compañero del Instituto llamado Tony Miller, y Steve acude con Celeste. Pero antes de llegar al Hotel los chicos se pasan por la casa de Mel, donde toman algo antes de subirse a la limusina que los llevará a la fiesta. Brandon y Andrea acaban en la habitación que Toni había reservado y a la que Brenda no quiso subir. También David tiene alquilada una habitación, pero Donna, que ha bebido demasiado acaba vomitando en el baño, por lo que sus amigos deciden llevársela de allí antes de que la vea nadie, pero la Sra. Tiesley la encuentra y les anuncia que Donna no podrá graduarse.
