Candy now lives at the Ardley estate, together with the Cornwell brothers and Anthony and a closet full of dresses given by great-aunt Elroy. Neil and Eliza still try to persist in their lies and accusations, embarrassing great-aunt and provoking Anthony and the Cornwell brothers to remind them that Candy is a member of the family. When they make Neil beg on his knees for forgiveness, Candy stops them: without their deception, she would not have been sent to Mexico and Grandfather William would not have adopted her to save her. Meanwhile, Anthony has become envious about the hilltop prince, believing Candy only likes Anthony because he looks like the prince. The pendant confirms he must be an Ardley. But Candy declares she does not care who the prince is, and that she likes Anthony for being Anthony. Later, at the festive dinner table, the three young men are stupefied by her appearance in a green dress that matches her eyes and Anthony thinks that Candy reminds him of his dead mother. When Candy deftly repels Eliza and Neil's antics to make her appear without manners, she becomes so ladylike in Anthony's eyes that he starts to daydream about marriage.
Candy « prend ses marques » dans la famille André. Elle parle de son prince à Anthony qui en est jaloux, mais elle lui révèle qu’elle l’aime. Une fête est organisée en son honneur, malgré la colère d’Élisa.
Candy ora vive presso la tenuta degli Andrew e nella sua stanza v'è un armadio pieno di abiti all'ultima moda donati dalla zia Elroy. Neil e Iriza provano ancora a seguire la loro tattica di bugie e accuse nei confronti della ragazza, ma i tre cugini si schierano come paladini a sua difesa davanti all'arcigna zia Elroy ricordando che ora Candy è un membro effettivo della famiglia.
Giungono in tal modo quasi a costringere Neil a chieder perdono in ginocchio per tutte le cattiverie commesse, ma Candy li ferma: senza i loro continui inganni non sarebbe mai stata inviata in Messico e lo zio William non l'avrebbe quindi mai adottata. I loro mali si sono pertanto tramutati in un bene ed andrebbero perciò ringraziati!
Nel frattempo Anthony sembra provar gelosia nei confronti del "principe della collina", finendo per credere che Candy provi simpatia ed attaccamento a lui solo perché gli assomiglia; ed il medaglione che Candy conserva con tanta cura sembrerebbe proprio confermare che si tratti di un membro della famiglia Andrew. A questo punto la ragazza lo rassicura dicendole che a lei piace Anthony in quanto Anthony, e basta.
Più tardi, ad una festa, i tre giovani rimangono stupefatti dal rifulgente fascino di Candy che indossa un bellissimo abito verde: ad Anthony sembra ricordare tanto la propria madre morta. Candy respinge abilmente i tentativi di Neil ed Iriza che tentano di farla apparire goffa e sgraziata: diviene a tal punto bella agli occhi di Anthony che egli inizia a fantasticare su un possibile matrimonio con lei.
Caramelo ahora vive en la finca Ardley, junto con los hermanos Cornwell y Anthony y un armario lleno de vestidos dadas por la tía abuela Elroy.
