Vier Hobbyköche aus ganz Deutschland müssen über die Woche hinweg täglich zu einem vorgegebenen Budget zwischen 2,99 Euro und 9,99 Euro gegeneinander kochen. Das Budget gilt dabei jeweils für ein Gericht mit zwei Portionen. Die beiden Spitzenköche Sarah Henke und Tarik Rose bilden die Jury, die die Speisen schließlich bewerten und für das Freitagsfinale ein eigenes Motto vorgeben.
