  • S01E03 Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future for Sega Dreamcast - Review

    • September 29, 2000
    • YouTube

We kill more dolphins by 7am than most people do all day. Originally recorded in September 2000, the Classic Game Room carves up some dolphin burgers with this classic review on the Sega Dreamcast.

  • S01E22 Dino Crisis for PlayStation - Review

    • February 20, 2000
    • YouTube

The ORIGINAL Classic Game Room reviews DINO CRISIS in the year 2000. Blow away dinosaurs and make them even more extinct than they already are. This isn't Jurassic Park, this is mf'n DINO CRISIS! This review from 2000 is old school Game Room with Mark and Dave. Dino Crises reviewed by the team does quite well, it has lots of blood and gore and angry, man eating dinos! This game plays out like a horror, adventure, RPG like Resident Evil, Carrier or Silent Hill. You play as a good looking woman in tight pants who has a huge arsenal of weaponry with which to annihilate an antire herd of dinosaurs! Even peaceful ones, you pretty much shoot them too. Solve mysteries, look hot in stretch pants and blow away everything that moves in Dino Crisis for the PS1. Classic Game Room shows gameplay of Dino Crisis and reviews the game in the unique style of Classic Game Room... CGR style! Are sequels of Dino Crisis coming out for Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 PS3 sometime soon? Only talking dinosaurs could know....

Season 2

  • S02E147 1942: Joint Strike for Xbox 360 - Review

    • July 24, 2008
    • YouTube

Do you remember 1942 from 1984? The original Capcom WW2 era vertical scrolling shooter is back with 1942 Joint Strike on the XBLA. This review covers the gameplay, the graphics and sound and shows of the game's use of 3D 3-dimentional backgrounds in a 2D shooting game. This is a SHMUP (shoot 'em up) much like Ikaruga or Radiant Silvergun, some of the best SHMUPS ever made. Pilot your WWII era fighter plane against wave after wave of enemy bombers, mine layers and other fighter planes. Shoot them down with an arsenal of cool weapons like the spread shot and laser beam. Collect power ups, play with a friend and have a great time. It's great to see companies like Capcom releasing games on the 360 and on the Sony Playstation Network for the PS3. I played 1943 on the NES Nintendo right before recording this review so I was down with the 194x if you know what I mean. A maniac shooter from a past that doesn't exist. You can get Gamer Points too. Hooray. I think this is also on the Playstation Network and not sure if they'll use it for Home or not. Not sure if it is on VC Virtual Console on Wii either.

  • S02E182 Ridge Racer 7 for PlayStation 3 - Review

    • August 20, 2008
    • YouTube

Classic Game Room reviews RIDGE RACER 7 for the PlayStation 3 video game console system. The Ridge Racer series from Namco has been a classic arcade driving video game for years. In this seventh installment you drift and slide your way to nitrous oxide nitro boosting your car into warp speed to defeat your opponents in all kinds of crazy races. Collect cars, earn fake money and play this game at your own risk. Classic Game Room didn't care for it and that's a shame because CGR HD likes most racing games. Why didn't we like it? Well, that's kind of obvious. "AWESOME, YOU'RE SLIPSTREAMING!" Yes, the voice dialog is back seat driving at its worst. The graphics are sub par for a PS3 title and as this review shows the gameplay is lacking. If you want to play some great arcade style racing games check out Hydro Thunder and Fatal Inertia!! But if you really want to drive cars then you needed to play Gran Turismo, Forza or Test Drive. RR7 wasn't our cup of beer, but that doesn't mean you won't like it. It just means that we hate all that they put into this game. Watch the gameplay in this game as seen in the footage. Is this the worst PS3 launch title? SLIPSTREAMING!!!

Season 6

  • S06E15 Storybook Workshop for Nintendo Wii - Review

    • January 15, 2010
    • YouTube

Classic Game Room HD reviews STORYBOOK WORKSHOP for Nintendo Wii from Konami. This game comes packed with the Logitech USB microphone (same mic that you get with Rock Band 2). Talk into the microphone and read children's stories like Little Red Riding Hood and the Elves and the Shoemaker. The voices that you read automatically change to reflect the characters talking. For instance, when Little Red Riding Hood talks the pitch is shifted up to sound very high, the wolf sounds deep and menacing. Change your voice to sound like a robot and sing Row Row Row Your Boat and other kids songs. Sae your recordings and play them back later, "paint" with your voice and more. This CGR review of Storybook Workshop for Nintendo Wii has gameplay from Story Book Workshop on Wii showing game play in action with the microphone. Game contains 16 classic fairy tales and four sing-along songs.

  • S06E90 Pac-Man for NES - Review

    • March 23, 2010
    • YouTube

Classic Game Room reviews PAC MAN for the NES, the Nintendo Entertainment System from Namco and Tengen. This 1993 release of the game is fairly true to the original although I found the speed of gameplay to bit slightly different. Pac-Man on NES starts off extremely slow and then picks up the pace rapidly. Visually true to the original with good sound and graphics, the Tengen release of Namco's classic coin-op should please those collecting NES cartridges. It looks smooth too with Pac Man sporting a pimp hat on a classy black game cart. This CGR review of Pac Man on NES has gameplay from Pac Man on Nintendo showing 8-bit Pac Man game play in HD.

  • S06E101 Hamsterball for PlayStation 3 - Review

    • April 2, 2010
    • YouTube

Classic Game Room reviews HAMSTER BALL for Playstation 3, a similar game to the popular Super Monkey Ball series. Hamster Ball packs awesome, fast paced HD visuals and some crushing boards that will send numerous hamsters plummeting into the depths of wherever. Hate hamsters? You'll love Hamster Ball. Some trial and error is required to meander through mazes that come straight out of Dr. Seuss-land. Numerous boards invite you to compete for the fastest time and push your hamster to the limits. From publisher Tik-Creat, Hamster Ball is a clever look at the Monkey Ball style of gameplay which works well with the PS3 controller's dual analog sticks.

  • S06E113 How to Train Your Dragon for Xbox 360 - Review

    • April 11, 2010
    • YouTube

Classic Game Room reviews HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON for Xbox 360, also available for Playstation 3 PS3, Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS. Based on the Dreamworks animated film, How to Train Your Dragon is a pseudo-fighting game with an E rating where players collect dragons, train them, feed and care for them and fight!! The CGR How to Train Your Dragon video game review has gameplay from How to Train Your Dragon showing HD game play with dragons fighting in battle. Upgrade your dragons and burn people with monsters (but don't cut them in half) for E 10+ action gaming entertainment. Play with a friend in the arcade mode and complete special challenges for achievement points (and PS3 trophies for the Playstation 3 version). Create your own dragon with parts won during gameplay to give them neat noses and wings, etc... How to Train Your Dragon is good family fun for families on Earth consisting of humans interested in playing How to Train Your Dragon (not recommended for cats).

  • S06E137 Virtua Fighter for Sega 32X - Review

    • May 6, 2010
    • YouTube

Classic Game Room HD reviews VIRTUA FIGHTER 32X for the Sega Genesis 32X add-on! Doesn't everyone make fun of the 32X? Maybe, but the thing really boosted the Sega Genesis power by a factor of 10. The Sega arcade Yu Suzuki masterpiece, Virtua Fighter, plays fast and smooth on the 32X. Early polygon graphics may not make the game a visual treat but gameplay is rock solid and as true to fighting as a video game with polygon created characters can be. Tap a direction, press a button or combination of buttons and pull of a wide variety of "realistic" moves... Realistic compared to shooting fireballs and tentacles that is. This CGR review of Sega's Virtua Fighter on 32X has gameplay from Virtua Fighter on Sega 32X showing video game play in action being reviewed.

  • S06E138 The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time

    • May 7, 2010
    • YouTube

CGR Undertow reviews The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Where once stretched a vast blue sky now billows thick plumes of smoke, a blur of browns and grays which seems to suffocate any rays of light foolish enough to pierce it. Where once stood a proud castle now extends a dying plain of ash and burning rubble, and where once I played as a child now stands a seething, demonic beast obsessed with my destruction. Blade unsheathed and hairs standing on end, my journey had finally come to this. More than a decade has passed since that moment, the monumental final minutes of the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and after all these years, I remember the scene as vividly as ever. Forget revisiting its cartridge—simply recalling its memory brings a gleaming smile to my face. More than its Homeric story, pioneering controls and engrossing gameplay, perhaps that is the true testament to Ocarina of Times timelessness. Perhaps that is why, even after nearly 12 years and three presidencies, people regard Nintendos Zelda opus so highly. Like the handful of Zelda titles before it, Ocarina of Time uses a simple recipe—explore the world, find a temple, clear it and repeat. The cycle isnt complicated, but the journey it fosters is truly staggering, leading Link on a quest which takes him from forest to desert, from lake to mountain, and even from childhood to adulthood. The classic legend unfolds at an exemplary pace, highlighted by the games vibrant, interactive worlds and powered by its revolutionary third-person controls, camera and combat. Ocarina of Time was deemed a platform-defining release for the Nintendo 64, but in truth, it wasnt simply a defining moment for its platform—it was a defining moment for the industry. A game without peers, its also the greatest game Nintendo has ever released.

  • S06E141 Sherlock Holmes vs. Jack the Ripper for Xbox 360 - Review

    • May 11, 2010
    • YouTube

Classic Game Room HD reviews SHERLOCK HOLMES versus JACK THE RIPPER for Xbox 360, also available for PC. Elementary my dear Watson!!! Jack the Ripper is bad and we're going to stop him with our giant, huge, brains!!!!!! Solve murders and other mysteries as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson in 1888 London. A unique game for the Xbox 360 (feels like a PC game, no diggity-doubt), this is a combination 1st person perspective adventure game, Resident Evil style camera-pulled back explorative game mixed with Ace Attorney Phoenix Wright style deductions and crime solving. Interesting to say the least and one that CSI fans and those looking for puzzle games and mystery solving adventures may enjoy. While Sherlock Holmes feels like it was produced on a tighter budget than most Xbox 360 adventure games it makes up for it with a great sense of time and space, placing the player into late 19th century London. This CGR review of Sherlock Holmes versus Jack The Ripper has gameplay from the Xbox 360 version of Sherlock Holmes vs Jack the Ripper showing game play in HD.

  • S06E161 Lost Planet 2 for PlayStation 3 - Review

    • June 1, 2010
    • YouTube

Classic Game Room HD reviews LOST PLANET 2 for PlayStation 3, also available for Xbox 360. This sci fi action shooter is optimized for multiplayer in a Left 4 Dead kind of way. Teamwork is critical for success and playing with other human beings (or a well trained dog) is the best way to enjoy everything that Capcom's Lost Planet 2 has to offer. Kill Big claims the packaging and that's right, numerous Class-G Akrids await your destruction. Fortunately they all have orange areas that make it easy to figure out where to shoot them, but it's not that simple as they frequently have devastating attacks and crush you without mercy. There's cool VS mechs and helicopter things to pilot and miniguns, even a massive shotgun. Lost Planet 2 has some funky camera perspective issues and feels incomplete when being played solo, but for those up for multiplayer and teamwork based-gameplay it should be a winner. This CGR review of Capcom's Lost Planet 2 has Lost Planet 2 gameplay showing game play from the PS3 version of Lost Planet 2.

  • S06E187 PlayStation Home (July 2010) for PlayStation 3 - Review

    • July 5, 2010
    • YouTube

Classic Game Room HD reviews PLAYSTATION HOME for JULY 2010 (there will most likely be another soon, watch Twitter for info!) This CGR review has gameplay from PS Home during the weekend of July 4th, 2010 showing the 4th of July and Canada Day decorations and celebrations in PlayStation Home. You won aFourth of July (4th of July 2010) or Canada Day t-shirt just by visiting, so check back on holidays! Classic Game Room reviews The Midway which is a collection of carnival style mini games for 99 cents and amazingly isn't worth it. CGR gets the Big Daddy suit from 2K games and Bioshock as well as a proper underwater lair. Fun all around, PlayStation Home has so much more potential than Sony 3D so why isn't it being treated with the proper respect? I'd rather buy Big Daddy suits and disco dance than spend 30 seconds watching 3-D video with glasses.

  • S06E193 Singularity for PlayStation 3 - Review

    • July 12, 2010
    • YouTube

Classic Game Room HD reviews SINGULARITY from Raven Software and Activision for PlayStation 3 (also available for Xbox 360 and PC). Singularity is a sci-fi shooter in the epic, cinematic style of Bioshock and Raven's own Wolfenstein. This first person shooter starts off in the present day and then goes backwards and forwards through time as you unravel the secrets of Katorga-12, E99 and the Singularity. This CGR review of Singularity from Raven and Activision has gameplay from Singularity on PS3 (also available for Xbox 360) showing Singularity FPS shooter game play in HD action. Rated M.

Season 7

  • S07E35 Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days for Xbox 360 - Review

    • August 23, 2010
    • YouTube

Classic Game Room HD reviews KANE AND LYNCH 2 DOG DAYS for Xbox 360 (also for Playstation 3 PS3) from Io-Interactive, Eidos and Square Enix. This cinematic romp through the Shanghai underground is full of blood, carnage and bodies as Kane & Lynch take on thousands of bad guys after a deal goes wrong. Fans of ultra violent shooters with high production value should get a thrill out of Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days even if the game is fairly average as shooters go. A stylish wide angle lens, grainy filter and constand handheld camera movement effect liven up the gameplay and drop the player into some of most action-packed Hong Kong action films from the past 30 years. This CGR review of Kane & Lynch 2 has gameplay from Kane and Lynch 2 showing video game play in action.

  • S07E45 Heavy Fire: Special Operations for Nintendo Wii - Review

    • September 3, 2010
    • YouTube

Classic Game Room HD reviews HEAVY FIRE: SPECIAL OPERATIONS for Nintendo Wii from the Wii Shop Channel. This download WiiWare game is like Operation Wolf meets Modern Warfare. Set in Somalia, you shoot "terrorists" or something... basically pop up targets that pose a minimal threat. Heavy Fire is an arcade style shooter on rails with predictable gameplay and functioning controls. Play single player or co-op with a friend. Shoot enemies for points but don't expect much variety in game play, locations or enemies. Heavy Fire is a bare bones budget light gun style shooter that gets the job done for an affordable price, but true arcade gun game aficionados should look elsewhere. This CGR review of Heavy Fire Special Operations on Nintendo Wii has gameplay from Heavy Fire Special Operations Wiiware on Nintendo Wii showing on rails shooter game play.

  • S07E74 Dead Rising 2: Case Zero for Xbox 360 - Review

    • September 30, 2010
    • YouTube

Classic Game Room reviews DEAD RISING 2: CASE ZERO from Capcom for Xbox 360, a prologue / prequel to the full game, DEAD RISING 2! Play as Chuck Green in this short Dead Rising 2 standalone download video game (you don't need the full game to play this). At time of release Dead Rising 2: Case Zero was 400 points and packs a short story but lots of zombie slaying mayhem and achievement points. This CGR review of Dead Rising 2: Case Zero has gameplay from Dead Rising 2: Case Zero from Capcom showing gameplay on Xbox 360.

  • S07E75 Dead Rising 2 for PlayStation 3 - Review

    • October 1, 2010
    • YouTube

Classic Game Room reviews DEAD RISING 2 for PlayStation 3 PS3 (available on Xbox 360 and PC) from Capcom, a video game where you slap zombies in the face with "massagers". You play as Chuck Green, motocross champion and all-around handsome guy who fights waves of zombies let loose after the "Terror is Reality" game show is sabotaged in order to save his daughter and clear his name. Combine awesome household items and hardware into crazy weapons like the paddle-saw and handheld lawnmower thing. Save survivors, get keys and drive vehicles around Fortune City and crush zombies. Unlock trophies and achievement points while you rack up huge zombie kills and level Chuck up. Dead Rising 2 is mercilessly addictive and will keep players coming back for more to slaughter endless waves of zombie freaks. This CGR review of Dead Rising 2 from Capcom on PS3 has gameplay from Dead Rising 2 showing video game play in HD action from Dead Rising 2, also on Xbox 360 and PC.

  • S07E90 Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes for PlayStation 3 - Review

    • October 15, 2010
    • YouTube

This CGR review of Capcom's Sengoku Basara: Samurai Hereos features PS3 video game play of Sengoku Basara Samurai Heroes showing Playstation 3 gameplay in HD action. This awesome hack and slash action game should appeal to fans of the Dynasty Warriors / Samurai Warriors / Ninety Nine Nights II videogame series with its over the top action and multiple characters with upgradable weapons.

  • S07E91 MARIO KART 64 for Nintendo 64

    • October 16, 2010
    • YouTube

Classic Game Room reviews MARIO KART 64 for Nintendo 64 from Nintendo released in 1996 / 1997. The Mario Kart series moves to 3D style gameplay with this release of Mario Kart 64 on N64 and can be purchased today on the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console. This CGR video review review of Mario Kart 64 has Mariokart 64 gameplay showing Mario Kart 64 game play in HD action on N64. MarioKart 64 is one of the classic entries in the series and remains one of the most popular Mariocart videogames to date from Nintendo.

  • S07E97 Duke Nukem 3D for Sega Saturn - Review

    • October 21, 2010
    • YouTube

Classic Game Room reviews DUKE NUKEM 3D for Sega Saturn. The hilarious, iconic first person shooter from 3D realms originally released in 1996 found its way onto the Sega Saturn shortly thereafter. Sluggish gameplay with lag and delay basically ruins what is otherwise an awesome first person shooter. While Duke Nukem 3D is playable on the Sega Saturn and a truly awesome videogame, there are better versions of Duke Nukem 3D out there (PC and Xbox 360). This CGR review of Duke Nukem 3D has gameplay from Duke Nukem 3D showing game play on Sega Saturn.

  • S07E101 Neo Geo Pocket Color - Review

    • October 25, 2010
    • YouTube

Classic Game Room reviews the SNK Neo-Geo Pocket Color handheld game console from 1999! This sequel to the black and white NeoGeo Pocket had color and higher hopes but still failed to gain a foothold against the Nintendo Game Boy and Sega Game Gear. Lack of a backlit screen and small software library kept the SNK Neo Geo Pocket Color to a niche market, but that doesn't mean it isn't awesome. The Neo-Geo Pocket Color is a 16-bit hand held videogame console with games like Samurai Shodown and Gals Fighters that have a catchy cartoony look and awesome gameplay. It has a thumbstick instead of a D-pad and two buttons. Because of the non-backlit screen the Neo Geo Pocket has excellent battery life. Its design is pleasing and the SNK NeoGeo Pocket Color has a handy portable size which fits your hands well and makes gameplay comfortable. CGR reviews Neo-Geo Pocket Color video games on Classic Game Room review show.

  • S07E102 Rock Band 3 for PlayStation 3 - Review

    • October 26, 2010
    • YouTube

Classic Game Room & CGR Undertow review ROCK BAND 3 from Harmonix, MTV Games and EA for PlayStation 3, also available for Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii. CGR reviews Rock Band 3 for PS3 with Rock Band 2 instruments (that work freshy fresh). The big, new thing with Rock Band 3 is the ability to play with the new Rock Band 3 instruments in the Pro mode (Professional Mode) which play more like real instruments giving a much more challenging experience. Real musicians rejoice, pro mode is here! For the rest of us who enjoy pushing plastic buttons Rock Band 3 remains very similar to Rock Band 2 and works with the awesome Rock Band music store (as well as many tracks from previous games). New challenges and a new career mode await you as well as trophies and achievement points. Songs included with Rock Band 3 range from 80's pop hits by the Cure, Big Country, INXS and Huey Lewis and the News as well as metal tracks from Anthrax and Dio. This CGR review of Rock Band 3 has gameplay from Rock Band 3 on PS3 showing game play during Rock Band 3 played solo and with bass guitar, drums, guitar and singing. This videogame review of Rock Band 3 includes positive reviews of the music from the game as well as a review look at the Ministry Track Pack 2 and Muse available from the Rock Band music store.

  • S07E109 Medal of Honor (Special Edition) for PlayStation 3 - Review

    • November 2, 2010
    • YouTube

Classic Game Room reviews MEDAL OF HONOR: SPECIAL EDITION for Playstation 3 PS3 from Danger Close, DICE and EA. Is this the Call of Duty Modern Warfare killer it was hyped up to be or is Medal of Honor just another first person shooter? The game takes place in Afghanistan where you play as several U.S. Military soldiers fighting waves of bad guys with a variety of machine guns and sniper rifles. Awesome visuals and sound design aren't quite enough to really make the game stand out though as predictable gameplay and jerky cut-scenes make this a "me-too" effort. CGR loves the helicopter scenes though, MORE HELICOPTER!! This CGR review of Medal of Honor has gameplay from Medal of Honor Special Edition on PS3 showing Medal of Honor video game play in HD action. Medal of Honor Special Edition comes with Medal of Honor Frontline remastered.

  • S07E143 Mortal Kombat Trilogy for PlayStation - Review

    • November 25, 2010
    • YouTube

Classic Game Room reviews MORTAL KOMBAT TRILOGY for PlayStation from Midway and Williams, a collection of 32 fighters (plus 4 classic ones), brutality, fatality, babality and animality moves and lots of those Mortal Kombat environments. This CGR review of Mortal Kombat gameplay during Mortal Kombat Trilogy on PlayStation plays on PlayStation 3 with arcade style fighting videogame game play from Mortal Kombat.

  • S07E163 Wii MotionPlus for Nintendo Wii - Review

    • December 6, 2010

  • S07E187 Fallout: New Vegas for PlayStation 3 - Review

    • December 21, 2010
    • YouTube

Classic Game Room reviews FALLOUT: NEW VEGAS for PlayStation 3 (also available for Xbox 360 and PC). Fallout New Vegas is very similar to Fallout 3 in many respects except that it takes place in the Western United States in and around Las Vegas which is now called New Vegas. All new enemies and crazy characters await like the Legion, Caesar, The New California Republic and Mr. House. Why was your character shot and buried alive only to be dug up by a robot? How many fun things can you do with a flamethrower in New Vegas? (lots) Fans of Fallout will most likely enjoy Fallout New Vegas gameplay but don't expect anything drastically different from Fallout 3. Wandering deserts, burned out buildings and dark spaces while shooting enemies with an awesome array of weapons is par for the course. This CGR review of Fallout New Vegas has Fallout New Vegas gameplay showing Fallout New Vegas game play footage during a video review of Fallout New Vegas for PS3 / Xbox 360.

Season 8

  • S08E14 Action Replay 4M Plus for Sega Saturn - Review

    • January 10, 2011
    • YouTube

Classic Game Room reviews the ACTION REPLAY 4M PLUS card for Sega Saturn, also known as a 4 in 1 card or Action Replay cartridge. It gives players the ability to play import games on a Sega Saturn from a different region, for instance CGR can play Japanese (Japan only) releases on an American Sega Saturn with this Action Replay card that easily defies region encoding without problem. The Action Replay card also acts as a memory expander to save Sega Saturn game files and allow gameplay of Capcom games needing 4MB memory like X-Men vs. Street Fighter. Action Replay card comes with cheat codes for various games to jump ahead levels or become invincible, additional codes available.

  • S08E35 Mindjack for Xbox 360 - Review

    • January 25, 2011
    • YouTube

Classic Game Room reviews MINDJACK for Xbox 360 (also available for PlayStation 3). Mindjack is a cheesy futuristic romp through the year 2031 where you can control the minds of enemies and computers alike! Oh boy! From Square Enix comes a mixed back of cool features and sloppy controls. You can mindjack bystanders and use them for cannon fodder or make remote controlled droids do your dirty work. Turn enemy soldiers and armed monkeys into your personal cyber slave army! But watch out for terrible enemy A.I. and bugs, Mindjack seems like it is held together with Scotch tape and barely manages to run if the screen has more than 5 people on it. This CGR review of Mindjack for Xbox 360 from Square Enix shows Mindjack gameplay, also on PS3. Mindjack gameplay on Xbox 360 is fun for a short time as you jump in and out of people in Mindjack, but don't try to play it like a typical duck and cover shooter. Mindjack has single player and multiplayer gameplay and laughable acting that will have you on the floor rolling around giggling.

  • S08E84 Mario Sports Mix for Nintendo Wii (Part 3, Basketball) - Review

    • February 26, 2011
    • YouTube

Part 3 of 4: Classic Game Room reviews MARIO SPORTS MIX for Wii review, BASKETBALL! Mario Sports Mix by Square Enix and Nintendo contains four sports games in one collection, but don't confuse it with a crappy collection of 3rd party Wii minigames! Mario Sports Mix is fun, well made and totally playable with 1-4 players. Mario Sports Mix on Nintendo Wii has Volleyball, Ice Hockey, Dodgeball and Basketball (but no Rollerball). This CGR review of Mario Sports Mix on Nintendo Wii has gameplay from Mario Sports Mix on Wii showing videogame game play from Mario Sports Mix during basketball gaming.

  • S09E123 Cideko Air Keyboard Chatting - Review

    • September 4, 2011
    • YouTube

Classic Game Room reviews the CIDEKO AIR KEYBOARD CHATTING which is a computer peripheral that acts as both a mouse and keyboard for your PC. After you charge the included battery and insert the USB dongle into your computer you tilt and move the Air Keyboard Chatting and control the pointer on screen like magic! It also has a keyboard (which feels like texting on a phone) and inputs for both microphone and headphones. The Air Keyboard Chatting comes with earbuds and an attached mic. This device works well for computers hooked up to projectors for presentation work or for those looking to downsize their keyboard and mouse setup. Air Keyboard Chatting works especially well for Skype. Video review features Cideko Air Keyboard Chatting.

  • S09E128 Orbitor 1 Pinball Machine - Review

    • September 8, 2011
    • YouTube

Classic Game Room reviews the ORBITOR 1 pinball machine from Stern released in 1982. Orbiter 1 was regarded as a massive failure but it should be regarded as a great attempt at something new for pinball, even though it didn't succeed. A bizarre molded piece of plastic makes up the playing field that is formed in the shape of a planet's surface with a convex valley-like form, hills and valleys complete with spinning bumpers that shoot the ball off in erratic ways. Gameplay is never the same twice yet Orbiter 1 has very few objectives or things to actually shoot at. It's a fast game that provides a short thrill but gets old quickly, even though it's really cool for a few games. Dark Souls is a challenging game from the makers of the ultra-cool Demon's Souls and features many of the same gameplay features like losing your experience (souls) when you die and giving the player the chance to reclaim them. This CGR Dark Souls video review shows gameplay from the Xbox 360 version of Dark Souls published by Bandai (also available for PS3) which features HD game play of combat and some of the many features in this deep JRPG action adventure. Deep tactics, intense combat and difficult end bosses provide a brutal challenge and rewarding adventure for those up to the task. Those looking for more of a casual RPG adventure with hack and slash combat or turn based combat should look elsewhere.

  • S10E19 Twin Hawk for Sega Mega Drive - Review

    • November 29, 2011
    • YouTube

Classic Game Room reviews TWIN HAWK for Sega Mega Drive (Sega Genesis) from Toaplan, a vertical scrolling airplane shooter released in 1990! Twin Hawk is a 2D top down vertical scrolling shooter SHMUP that debuted in the arcades in 1989 and found its way onto the mighty Sega Mega Drive in 1990. Bland visuals prevent this from being one of the more attractive SHMUPS on the Sega Mega Drive but the gameplay is awesome and packs some serious challenge. Experience the unique feature of calling in support aircraft to give you an assist when blowing up enemy tanks and battleships. CGR Twin Hawk video review features Twin Hawk gameplay recorded from the Retron 3 game console (replicating the Sega Genesis / Sega Mega Drive).

    • April 26, 2012
    • YouTube

Classic Game Room reviews CHOP CHOP for Skylanders Spyro's Adventure, an undead element Skylander with a sword, shield, armor and boatload of awesomneness. Chop Chop is a skeleton with a bad attitude and plays like a basic dungeon crawling kinda-character. You hack and slash enemies with your sword and perform a shield bash. The Chop Chop Skylanders figure looks great with his gold and blue armor and four eyed style helmet. CGR Chop Chop video review features Chop Chop Skylanders gameplay recorded from PlayStation 3 (also Nintendo 3DS). Skylanders and Chop Chop are available on PC, Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360 and Mac.

    • YouTube

Classic Game Room reviews SHADOW DANCER: THE SECRET OF SHINOBI for Sega Genesis from Sega released in 1990. Shadow Dancer takes place after The Revenge of Shinobi and is a much shorter and easier game with superior visuals and even better music. CGR Shadow Dancer video review has Shadow Dancer the Secret of Shinobi gameplay recorded from Sega Genesis (aka Sega Mega Drive). This is one Mega Drive / Genesis game you should add to your collection because it's stylish, fun and has a dog that attacks bad guys to aid a ninja!!! What's more bad-ass than that??

  • S11E134 Total Recall for NES - Review

    • August 3, 2012
    • YouTube

Classic Game Room reviews TOTAL RECALL from Interplay and Acclaim from 1990, based on the original Total Recall movie! Sadly the game isn't as good as the movie. In fact it's not as good as a botched trip to Mars where you get attacked by mutants. The original Total Recall film was directed by the awesome Paul Verhoeven (Robocop, Starship Troopers) and stars the highly quotable Arnold Schwarzenegger, Michael Ironside, Sharon Stone and Ronny Cox. This game is crap, but the movie is a masterpiece of late 1980's style action films packed with one liners and brilliant laughs. Total Recall videogame is a lousy side scrolling action game where you punch and shoot enemies in boring levels loosely based on the movie.

  • S11E177 Captain America and the Avengers for Sega Genesis - Review

    • September 19, 2012

Not the superstar lineup seen in the newer Avengers movie, but a good group of heroes to choose from. This cheesy yet likable game has awful (read awesome) voice dialog and predictable button machine side scrolling beat 'em up combat. CGR Captain America and the Avengers video review features Sega Genesis (aka Sega Mega Drive) gameplay recorded from the 16-bit powerhouse!! Fun two player gameplay makes this affordable game a nice addition to your Sega Genesis collection.

    • October 25, 2012
    • YouTube

Classic Game Room reviews 007 LEGENDS for PlayStation 3 (also for Xbox 360 and WiiU) from Eurocom and Activision! Relive action scenes as James Bond hallucinates and remembers the past (as Daniel Craig with cell phones) through Goldfinger, License to Kill, Die Another Day, Moonraker and On Her Majesty's Secret Service! Additional Skyfall level is available for download after the movie is released. Daniel Craig and others such as Judi Dench, Michael Lonsdale, Toby Stephens, Carey Lowell, Richard Kiel and others voice their Bond film characters as well as lending their appearances! Jaws and Drax represent! CGR 007 Legends review has gameplay from the PS3 version of 007 Legends showing shooting action in HD awesomeness. Most of the game is first person shooter based (very, very similar to Call of Duty gameplay) with occasional stealth and vehicles scenes. Some of the movies like Moonraker steal the show though with space lasers and awesome recreations of the Moonraker sets. A cool game for James Bond fans who don't mind their favorite movies being tinkered with, it's not an accurate representation, just a fun video game based on some cool Bond movies. Includes a campaign, challenges and multiplayer.

Classic Game Room reviews HOTLINE MIAMI for PC downloaded from Steam, a super-hilarious and super-violent romp through the 1980's in late 80s computer gaming style. CGR Hotline Miami video review being played on Samsung Series 7 Laptop with Xbox 360 controller and big speakers for LOTSA BASS! Wicked soundtrack enhances the tense, frantic gameplay as you eliminate bad guys with a variety of weapons in hotel rooms and dingy, 80s style office complexes. They aren't too smart though, fire a few shots and they'll run right at you. Hotline Miami packs serious challenge after the first few levels so prepare to be eliminated dozens of times before you figure out the best way to approach the slaughter! Sonic Unleashed combines multiple gameplay styles to create an interesting mix of things for Sonic the Hedgehog to do. He races through hyper-fast "Sonic" style races to collect rings and special coins to progress the storyline (memorization is a must!). Sonic also transforms into a Were-Hedgehog at night to fight Dr. Eggman's army of robots with claws and special moves. The game plays like Sonic meets God of War meets Teen Wolf and it's cool but fails to recapture the thrill of Sonic from the Sega Genesis era.

"Classic Game Room" was the first classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999 and 2000. It returns as a feature-length comedy film about the triumphant story of online success, failure, obscurity, resurrection and success again! The legendary show was produced in the early days of online video by Mark Bussler and David Crosson at an Internet startup with one camera, a green screen and $50 budgets. The show was objective, entertaining and obnoxious with beer-drinking, bottle-throwing, joystick-slinging, car-crashing classic game reviews. A cult following developed and the reviews kept coming, but how long could it last until the money ran out?
