After bringing an NBA championship to Cleveland, LeBron James now turns his attention to helping the city's economy through a new series that gives business owners a chance to open permanent storefronts in Gordon Square, an underserved Cleveland neighborhood. In the series premiere, investor & local bar and restaurant mogul, Alan Glazen, must decide to invest in one of two up-and-coming small businesses: artisanal bagel maker The Cleveland Bagel Company or Styles of Success, a hair salon-suites concept. He gives both enterprises only 48 hours to open a one-day pop-up store to prove their worth--but only one will earn his backing and the chance to open in Gordon Square.
Successful Cleveland restaurateur Jonathan Sawyer must choose between two small businesses competing for his investment. The candidates are Akron Honey, an urban honey-making company that turns blighted city lots into thriving bee farms, and Fount, a high-end leather goods operation looking to bring manufacturing jobs back to Cleveland. Each business gets only 72 hours to conceive and open a pop-up store from the ground up. The top performer will earn Jonathan's investment and get to open a permanent storefront in Gordon Square, a Cleveland neighborhood that needs revitalization.
After being hand-picked by LeBron James to help bring life back to Gordon Square, a struggling neighborhood in Cleveland, financial advisor Kathy Futey must choose a small business to invest in. She's narrowed her options to Groundswell Yoga, an urban wellness studio, and The Proper Pig, a BBQ food truck with dreams of expanding into a full service restaurant. Kathy gives both enterprises just 48 hours to build pop-up stores from the ground up. The most successful challenger will win her financial support and get to open a store in Gordon Square, hopefully becoming a part of Cleveland's bright business future.
All four of the chosen businesses begin to seek locations for their stores within the Gordon Square area.
