n Episode 1 of the Cockpit Casual series from @speedtapefilms Steve & Bob pick up an Airbus A319 from an Arizona boneyard and fly it across the Atlantic Ocean to Zagreb Croatia. The original, self-produced, documentary series follows Steve Giordano, a ferry pilot, delivering airliners all over the world. Each trip is a new adventure both inside and outside of the cockpit. The entirely self-produced videos are filmed using camera mounts and remote controls and both GoPro and DJI Pocket camera systems on live operations. Steve Giordano completes all of the production and editing using Premiere Pro, and the soundtrack features original jazz from Steve P. Giordano and his archive of recordings over the last 50 years as a professional musician. This episode features Steve Giordano and Robert Allen (Twitter: @skydogzen) aka Captain Bedbug.
On Episode 2 of Cockpit Casual, Steve and Ava deliver a Boeing 737 Freighter from Kelowna Canada to Belo Horizonte Brazil. Once in Brazil, it would take few days for the airplane to clear customs, so they headed to the only golf course in the region to pay a couple rounds and wandered through the city to enjoy the Brazilian cuisine. On Episode 3 of Cockpit Casual, Steve and AVA fetch an Airbus A321 from Larnaca Cyprus and deliver it to Goodyear Arizona. Over the course of this 4-day ferry flight adventure, they made stops in Malta, Iceland, and Portsmouth New Hampshire and got in 2 rounds of golf; one in Paphos Cyprus where it was 100 degrees F (38C) and one in Keflavik Iceland where the temperature was 48F (9C). With ferry-flying, comes the unique opportunity to play golf in two drastically different island climates within 24 hours, and Steve and Ava took full advantage. The trip took place in July and Iceland had 22 hours of daylight, so the tee-time was at 10PM! Episode 3 contains plenty of flight footage, including amazingly clear views of Greenland from 28,000 feet, a meal and a stroll around Limassol, golf, and focuses on details of yet another aviation adventure. The episode features original Jazz by Steve Giordano Sr.'s Spacetet and the Symbiosis Syndicate as well as an original techno score by Lydia Gio
The 4-Part series, "The tale of 7 Virgins" follows the gang on a series of adventures flying between the United States and Australia delivering and re-delivering 7 Virgin Australia Boeing 737-800 aircraft. On the first episode, a team of 10 pilots and one engineer (nicknamed "Oceans Eleven"), have to get from the United States to Australia during the COVID LOCKDOWN of 2020. Because of travel restrictions, a Falcon 7X private jet was chartered to haul the team across the pacific from Los Angeles to Brisbane. Unlike other Cockpit Casual episodes, this one features the classic music of Herbie Hancock from the "Thrust" album - which is, according to Steve: "Probably the best album ever recorded".

On the final installment of the four-part series, Steve and Jon complete one of the final re-deliveries of a Boeing 737-800 to Virgin Australia from the California Desert. Picking up where part 3 left off; on departure out of Honolulu, the route passes over Johnston Atoll (PJON) and then lands in Majuro, in the US Marshall Islands (PKMJ/MAJ) for fuel. The episode features a real-time visual approach and landing, as well as the departure from Majuro from multiple cockpit camera views in 4K. The tiny atoll is gorgeous from the air, and the scenes are arguably among the best aviation-oriented Majuro content that can be found on the internet! Part 4 caps off the tale that follows our adventures moving 7 empty airliners from Australia to the United States in 2 multi-ship ferry flight operations, and then back to Brisbane on individual flights over a year. Cockpit Casual returns with the FIRST in a THREE-PART series titled "Art of the Long-Haul". The story follows Steve Giordano and Aaron Van Arsdale as they trek from Alice Springs Australia to Francazal France in an Airbus A320 that was just re-activated from long term storage in the desert. Filmed in late 2021, COVID restrictions caused some major challenges with travel, and in Part One - Steve and Ava flew Emirates (first class) to Brisbane via Dubai, then chartered a King Air 200 from Archerfield to get to the Outback where the airplane was being stored. The empty aircraft was flown all the way to France by way of fuel stops in Jakarta, Colombo, Muscat, Cairo, and Tarbes. The Cockpit Casual series is a self-filmed, narrated, and produced collection of travel and adventure videos filmed by Giordano, featuring an original Jazz soundtrack recorded by Giordano's father Steve Giordano Sr. The flights are empty ferry flights on large commercial jet aircraft on behalf of the leasing com
On Part Two of Cockpit Casual, "Art of the Long-Haul", Steve and Ava make their way from Jakarta to Cairo via Colombo and Muscat. This episode features a lot of flight footage including a segment over the desert of Saudi Arabia, and a gorgeous visual approach into Cairo with the Pyramids of Giza clearly visible. The story follows Steve Giordano and Aaron Van Arsdale as they trek from Alice Springs Australia to Francazal France in an Airbus A320 that was just re-activated from long term storage in the desert. The Cockpit Casual series is a self-filmed, narrated, and produced collection of travel and adventure videos filmed by Giordano, featuring an original Jazz soundtrack recorded by Giordano's father Steve Giordano Sr. The flights are empty ferry flights on large commercial jet aircraft on behalf of the leasing companies. Giordano is a former airline pilot and currently runs the Nomadic Aviation Group; a Part 91 flight department specializing in flight-test and delivery throughout
In the final installment of the "Art of the Long-haul" series, Steve answers some omnipresent questions about inflight catering before heading into Francazal France by way of Tarbes for import. The episode caps off an epic journey where Ava and Steve picked up an ex-Indigo Airbus A320 from storage in Alice Springs Australia and ferried it to France where it would undergo delivery checks before being leased to a European operator. Once again the episode features more original organ trio Jazz from Steve Giordano Sr., Dave Posmontier, and Bob Shomo recorded specifically for Cockpit Casual in Philadelphia, which we are calling "the Germantown Session".
Cockpit Casual returns to follow Steve & Brian break ground on an 11-ship return from Lion Air. The first aircraft of the bunch was a Boeing 737-900ER that had been placed in storage in Alice Springs Australia. Thanks to Covid, entering Australia at the time was a challenge, so they chartered a Cessna 441 Conquest from Darwin at the last minute. The Cockpit Casual series is a self-produced series of aviation videos that follow the adventures of Steve Giordano; Managing Partner of the Nomadic Aviation Group - A Part 91 flight operations team tasked with moving empty airliners around the world for commercial aircraft lessors and airlines. Steve, Bob and his team; all former airline or military pilots, circle the globe week after week, year after year flying a variety of airliners from place to place. Deliveries, repos, maintenance flights, cargo conversions - all on heavy Boeing and Airbus aluminum, and all while wearing jeans and a T-shirt.
Did you know that many cargo aircraft start life as passenger aircraft? Presently, Boeing 737, 747, 757, 767, Airbus A321, A330, and MD-80s can be converted from "Passenger to Freighter" or (P2F). Soon, the A320 and B-777 will also join the list as new STCs are being developed. This is nothing new of course - 727s, DC-8s, DC-9s, DC-10s, and MD-11s have been converted for years. It's a great way to "recycle" aging airframes and engines and give new life and value to aircraft that still have years left in them. The Air-Cargo market has remained hot throughout COVID, and many airlines used make-shift "Cabin Freighters" to continue to supplement their bottom line during the tough times from 2020 to 2022. LATAM Cargo, a subsidiary of the LATAM Airline Group is a dedicated all-cargo airline operating the Boeing 767-300-BCF (Boeing Converted Freighter). LATAM (Lan Chile and TAM) operated passenger 767-300ERs for many years, and as they retire them from passenger service, they send them over
The first quarter of 2022 was a really busy time for the team at Nomadic. Normally, this is a slow period for airplane ferries, but not this year; an 11-ship Lionair return and some other long-hauls kept the gang busy. During this time, CC-CXE and CC-CXD were ready for pickup as newly converted freighters and Steve, Bob, and Ava had the honors of operating these flights. Part Two features a look at these returns and focuses primarily on the delivery of CC-CXE, where special guest Jon Ostrower from The Air Current joins Steve and Bob as a stowaway from Singapore to Miami with a fuel stop in Honolulu. Ostrower is a renowned Aviation Journalist and joined up with Nomadic to experience one of our weekly adventures first hand. The Air Current will soon publish a feature where Jon tells the story from an outsider's expert perspective - and Part 2 & 3 of "The Cargo Conversion" documents the adventure through video. As always, the series features original Jazz written and performed by Steve
On the final part of the Boeing 767 Cargo Conversion series, Jon Ostrower, Bob, and Steve finish circumnavigating the globe with a freshly converted BCF out of Singapore bound for LATAM Cargo in Miami. The three duck around some thunderstorms, fly a 13.5 hour leg to Honolulu, where they take a brief rest period in Waikiki before flying the second and final leg: 9.5 hours nonstop to Miami. The episode features realtime approach sequences in both HNL and MIA, and of course a lot of really sick jazz!
Cockpit Casual returns with a new video featuring a mission to repossess 2 aircraft, a Boeing 737-800 and a B767-300ER on behalf of a US Lessor from service in Russia. After sanctions were placed on Russia after its invasion of Ukraine, civil aircraft leases were cancelled and the western lessors scrambled to recover their aircraft assets from Russian airlines. Very few aircraft were actually recovered, but Nomadic was able to assist in recovering a hand full of them. On this mission, Bob and Steve flew to Turkey to grab a Boeing 737 from Antalya and a B-767 from Istanbul after they were voluntarily surrendered. The aircraft were registered in the USA and relocated to Roswell New Mexico and Goodyear Arizona respectively. The video features NEW MUSIC from the "Wings of Jazz"; Steve Giordano Sr.'s latest Organ-Quartet.
This double-feature episode of Cockpit Casual begins in Denver Colorado, where Bob & Steve attended the B-777 to B-787 differences course to obtain their PIC Type Ratings in the B-787 Dreamliner. Just like in real life, immediately after the course, Steve heads down to Santiago Chile where he meets up with Nomadic's Wes Gardner and the two embark on an adventure ferrying a B-767 from Santiago to Singapore via Auckland. The Santiago-Auckland leg was unique in that the great-circle routing passed so far south that Antarctic sea ice was visible from the cockpit. This episode is packed with action and beautiful vistas as the Nomadic team circles the earth yet again. Of course the episode also features original Jazz from Steve's fathers organ quartet aptly named "The Wings of Jazz".
On Part Two of "Antarctic Sea Ice", Steve and Wes find themselves in Auckland New Zealand in need of sleep, but with a mess to deal with when another trip happening in parallel goes off the rails. This episode is a typical cockpit casual classic with great air and ground footage over the course of a long-haul ferry flight; this time across Australia and into Paya Labar Air Base in Singapore.
In this 50 minute Cockpit Casual special feature, you'll fly along with Bob and Steve as they circumnavigate the globe while moving 2 aircraft: a Boeing 757 from Roswell NM to Xiamen China, then a B767-300ER from Naples Italy back to Roswell. Though not originally planned this way, the Nomadic team deals with a fluid situation in repositioning these aircraft in succession, full circle, in UNDER 5 DAYS!
On this episode of Cockpit Casual, Steve & Bob head to Hyderabad India to grab two Airbus A320 NEOs from the now-defunct airline, "Go First". The project took place in early January of 2023 and these were actually the first two aircraft pulled by lessors prior to the airline ceasing operations. In other words, these aircraft would "go first"! The duo from Nomadic flew from Philly to Doha on Qatar Airlines, then on to Hyderabad where they did some sightseeing around Charminar with the go-pros. The next day, Steve took left seat in the first aircraft and flew it to Istanbul via Cairo. After arriving in Turkey, they overnighted and the next day went right back to Hyderabad to grab the second aircraft. The project took the better part of a week, and was a non-stop, action packed adventure from the start. As usual, the episode features original Jazz from Steve Giordano Sr and lots of great footage from the Cockpit and around the world.
On this episode of Cockpit Casual, Steve and Bob discuss the reasons behind purchasing their 1980's vintage business jet (a 1986 Westwind II) and then head down to Dallas Texas to complete their training and receive a type rating on it. As soon as training is complete, the Westwind is flown to Roswell New Mexico as OMD1 (Nomadic One) where Steve and Bob pick up an Airbus A320 and fly it across the Atlantic to Montpellier France for heavy Maintenance.
On the latest installation of Cockpit Casual, Steve Giordano and Bob Allen circumnavigate their way around planet Earth again, this time delivering a Boeing B777-300ER (77W) from Phoenix to Abu Dhabi, then onto Tianjin China to grab an Airbus A320 destined for part-out in Brunswick Maine (USA). The quintessential example of the life of a "Ferry Pilot", a two-ship circumnavigation is always a grueling, but worthwhile way to spend a week! The episode is divided into two-parts which will drop a week apart. On this, the first part: Steve and Bob meet-up in Phoenix along with 2 other pilots for the 15 hour non-stop to the Middle East. Then, it's quite the adventure as the pair hop an Emirates A380 to China before they get delayed. The second part of the episode picks up in China when things get crazy. As usual, the episode is packed with original music produced by Steve Giordano SR, and was filmed, written, edited, scored, narrated, and completely produced by Giordano in his (haha) "Sp
Cockpit Casual returns with the second installment of the "Road Warriors" episode! Picking up where Steve Giordano and Bob Allen left off on their round-the-world journey, the episode kicks off in Tianjin China after ferrying a Boeing Triple-7 from Phoenix to Abu Dhabi. Steve and Bob ride China's high-speed rail system from Beijing to Binhai (Tianjin) then get delayed waiting for departure permits. Finally, they head to the airport and fly an old Airbus A320 from Tianjin to Brunswick Maine for scrapping via the mid-Pacific route with fuel stops in Guam, Oahu, and Phoenix. By the time they arrive, they're ZONKED after an exhausting voyage around the planet. This is some top-notch aviation content right here!
Bob and Steve head to Tokyo at the tail-end of the COVID pandemic to pull a pair of Boeing 767-300 aircraft out of JAL in this throwback episode filmed in 2022. The aircraft had recently retired from the passenger fleet and were purchased for tear-down and part-out in Blytheville Arkansas. The ferry flights were made with a single technical stop in Great Falls Montana. As usual, this episode features some original music by Steve SR.
In Part 1 of Life Nomadic: The Scenic Route, Steve and Pat ferry a retiring Airbus A319 out of Harbin, China, beginning its final journey toward the scrapyard in the UK. But this isn’t just another ferry flight. As the global aviation industry slowed dramatically in 2025, the mission profile changed. Instead of delivering aircraft to airlines, Nomadic Aviation pivoted toward the part-out market—pulling aging airframes out of service and delivering them to facilities around the world where high-value components like engines, APUs, and landing gear are removed, and the remaining airframe is scrapped. In this cinematic episode of Cockpit Casual, Steve takes a step back to assess the state of the industry, unpacking the economic and geopolitical factors that led to the slowdown—and how those shifts are reshaping the kind of flying being done today. From there, the journey begins. The A319 departs China and launches into a globe-spanning odyssey with stops in Calcutta, India, Muscat, Om

On Part 3 of A Life Nomadic, Bob & Steve take you on a short visual tour around the 'boneyard' in Marana Arizona, then pluck a wide-body Airbus A330-300 out of storage in Goodyear Arizona (GYR) and fly it to Istanbul Turkey where it will undergo cargo conversion. Filmed with the new gear - this episode is among the most visually stunning to date, and features some wild new camera angles, culminating with a gorgeous visual approach into the old Istanbul Ataturk airport! (Filmed in summer 2024).
As the title suggests - Part 4 of A Life Nomadic captures the chaos and variety of life as a ferry pilot. The episode kicks off in Orlando Florida where Steve & Bob are attending Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 recurrent proficiency checks. The duo then heads down to Latacunga Ecuador to test-fly a 737-800 prior to delivering it to South Africa. You'll then get to know one of Nomadic's newest ferry pilots and his lucky break getting in with the Nomadic team. You'll learn even more about the journey into ferry-piloting, and get a behind-the-scenes look at the "family" element at Nomadic - and how the brand's legacy will be carried into the future. If you dig the musical compositions, stay on for the credits where you'll get to see some of the Cockpit Casual music being recorded at a Studio in Philly!

Oman • Saudi Desert • Cairo • UK In Part 2 of Life Nomadic: The Scenic Route, the journey slows down before it speeds back up. Steve and Pat begin in Muscat, Oman, wandering through Old Muscat and the winding alleys of Mutrah Souq—a rare pause on an otherwise nonstop career spent ferrying airliners around the world. Steve reflects on how, in the early days, each destination felt exotic and distinct… and how, over time, constant global travel can blur into routine. Ironically, it’s making Cockpit Casual that has brought the adventure back. With cameras in hand, every place matters again. From Muscat, the mission resumes as they fly a retiring Airbus A319 on its final journey—out of China and ultimately bound for the scrapyard in the UK. The next leg departs Oman for Cairo, crossing vast stretches of the Omani and Saudi deserts, capturing some of the most cinematic in-flight footage ever filmed for the series. The sequence is set to an original, space-inspired composition by Symbios
