The forgotten protest against the Labour Party - Rob Ager

At their annual conference in Manchester in 2006, the Labour Party was protested by approximately 30,000 demonstrators regarding the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and the erosion of civil liberties under the guise of the War On Terror. This huge peaceful protest was attended by a diverse selection of political groups, but went almost completely unreported by the British newspapers and TV stations. The event therefore has been almost completely forgotten and there are very few references to it on the internet. I recorded video footage on the day of the protest and present some of it to you here along with questions and possible answers as to why this important protest did not receive the media coverage it deserved. Please share with others this example of how media blackouts and bias can distort public awareness of political events.
