Kay Lloyd's appearance creates tension between Bobby and April and she senses a chemistry between the two. Cally angrily conforts J.R. about him and Michelle. J.R tries to get to Diana Farrington of the investigation committee .Bobby is worried about the Justice Department putting Ewing Oil on their "hit list" again. J.R. blackmails Alex Barton and drives him out of Texas. James learns about Cally's faithfulness to him and wants to undo the damage he did, but he finds her unconscious and he feels guilty.
J.R. s'arrange pour rencontrer Diana Farrington, membre de la commission d'enquête du pétrole. Cally reproche à J.R. d'avoir couché avec Michelle et lui dit avoir passé la nuit avec Alex Barton. J.R., furieux, fait des reproches à Michelle. Cally trouve chez James une épaule pour pleurer. McKay s'arrange pour que les efforts de nettoyage du Golfe semblent être le fait de Weststar, alors que Bobby en finance la plus grosse part. Kay et Dave Culver dinent avec Bobby et April, et celle-ci, consciente de l'entente entre Bobby et Kay, se sent exclue de la conversation. J.R. conseille à Alex Barton de repartir pour l'Angleterre, sinon il le fait arrêter pour viol. Barton s'exécute, après avoir déclaré à J.R. que sa nuit avec Cally a été la meilleure de sa vie. J.R. propose à Diana Farrington d'aider son mari dans ses affaires, en échange de son soutien à la commission. Elle accepte avec enthousiasme... J.R. annonce à Cally le départ d'Alex Barton et sa nuit avec Diana Farrington. Cally lui avoue avoir menti au sujet d'Alex, par dépit, ce que confirme le jeune homme à J.R., au moment de monter dans l'avion pour l'Angleterre. De retour au ranch, J.R. découvre Cally inanimée sur son lit, un flacon de médicaments vide à ses côtés.
