Der Vietnamkrieg steht vor der Tür, da wird über dem vietnamesischen Dschungel ein UFO aus der Flotte der Hive abgeschossen. Frank Bach will das Flugobjekt unbedingt vor den Spähern der Sowjetunion und der Vietcong finden. Dazu entführt er John Loengard aus Washington, um ihn mit einem Sonderauftrag in den vietnamesischen Dschungel zu schicken. Als Bach und Loengard schließlich die Spuren und ein Besatzungsmitglied der UFOs gefunden haben, werden sie von Vietcong gefangen genommen. Es bleibt nur wenig Zeit zum fliehen, denn Bach hat die Bombardierung des Geländes befohlen...
When Soviet operatives fire on a Hive ship over the Gulf of Tonkin, Bach claims that US naval vessels were their target and starts the country's involvement in the Vietnam War. After air strikes down a Hive ship, Bach kidnaps Loengard for a reconnaissance mission. Yet, when military officials express reservations about having Majestic's Juliet Stuart co-ordinating with Russians also tracking the Hive, Bach joins Loengard for the trip himself. Teamed with Vietnamese guide Tay Ma, Loengard comes across a crazed American soldier as he finds a Gray's severed head. And when John finds that the crash site has been visited by the Viet Cong, Bach orders him to destroy it while requesting an air strike that could kill them all.

Loengard viene arruolato dal Majestic contro la sua volontà e inviato in Vietnam per recuperare il relitto di un'astronave abbattuta dai sovietici del Comando Aura-Zeta. Bach si reca sul posto con lui. I due ritrovano il relitto e si mettono alla ricerca di eventuali superstiti alieni, attraverso alcune gallerie.
