It's hard to believe that people think our laws are based on the bible. It is quite clear that the commandments, especially the revised ones (NONE of which are laws today), are the meaningless traditions of an ancient, superstitious people - not an objective moral code sent down by some mysterious, all-powerful, never-seen being. Furthermore, I think it's comical the way the Jews were frequently seeing the great "God Himself", to be revered and feared, but then they constantly turned around to stab Him in the back - so unrealistic. The bible is an ancient Jerry Bruckheimer movie.
