    Davey and his family rent a boat to picnic on an island far off shore. Davey's father loses track of the time and when the Hansen family prepares to return home, they discover the tide has run out and their boat is beached far from the water line.

    While on a hike, Davey rescues a mountain goat who had a leg broken by a fallen tree limb. When he brings the goat home to recuperate, the wild creature's antics soon have Davey in hot water.

    Joining in a parade, Davey and Goliath hope to win the prize-a pony. Goliath stars as a fierce lion.

    Davey trains Goliath to roller skate and decides he wants to organize a dog show for Goliath to compete in. The local television station hears of the dog show and decides to broadcast it but Davey breaks his leg while practicing.

    Davey tries his hand at gardening, but is neglectful of his chores. Davey learns that God sends sun and rain, but it's up to him to do the rest.

    Davey attempts to rescues Goliath after he falls in a river. Together they go over a waterfall, and Davey must help an injured Goliath.

  • S03E01 Happy Landing

    Davey compares his neighbor Hank to God after watching him do his job as an air traffic controller, but Hank quickly sets Davey straight.

    As editor-in-chief of his own small newspaper, Davey lands a big scoop, but he turns it over to the real newspaper's editor-in-chief.

    Davey is angry because his father allowed his younger sister, Sally, to join them on what he thought would be a father-son outing. When Davey meets a fatherless farm boy on the trip, he realizes how important a father is to all his children.

    Using his ingenuity, Davey rescues Sally after a foot bridge they were walking on breaks.

    After a disagreement with other club members, Davey is thrown out of the Jickets club.

    When Mr. Hansen fixes Sally's doll carriage instead of helping Davey build a lemonade stand, a jealous Davey soon learns his father loves his children equally.

    Davey and Teddy, helping Lorenzo the magician with his magic act, learn that magicians only do tricks, but God's miracles are real.

    To celebrate "Good Neighbor Week" the townspeople give out balloons to the children. Davey misses out on the festivities because he decides to help a small child find her way home instead.

    Sally is crowned queen at a festival, but she loses her favorite rag doll in the process. Davey helps his sister by finding the doll for her.

    During a ferry ride, the Hansen family's jeep falls overboard. Davey and his father go diving to see where it landed.

    Davey's Grandma tells Davey how she will see his baseball game on Saturday and how they will get together on Easter. On Thursday after baseball practice, Davey learns that his Grandma had passed away, which totally depresses Davey. On Saturday at the game, Davey sulks and can't keep his mind off his Grandma.

    A rash of vandalism occurs after a Halloween party and the perpetrators' costumes make it difficult for police to apprehend the vandals.

    Trying to prove he isn't chicken, Davey attempts a dangerous leap and winds up in the hospital. He learns it's better to be called "chicken" than to do something foolish.

    Goliath's dog house is wrecked in a storm. Davey must build another one by himself, much to his reluctance and low self confidence. After resisting and trying to get his father to help (whilst disappointing his Dad,) he becomes inspired by his pastor regarding Jesus being a carpenter and finds renewed self esteem.

    This one-hour documentary showcases the development of Davey and Goliath, the stop-motion animation children's program created for the Lutheran church by Clokey Productions between 1960 through 1975. It features original clips of Davey and Goliath, as well as interviews with the original animator and creators, Art and Ruth Clokey. Other interviews include Richard Sutcliffe, the original executive producer of the series and R. Marshall Stross, former director of the Commission on Press. The program highlights how stop-motion animation is created and also includes the development of characters, photos, storyboards, scripts, commercials and public service announcements as well as insight on new productions. Others appearing in the program are the ELCA's executive producers for new productions, Eric Shafer and Kristi Bangert, as well as producers and animators involved in the production of a new holiday special being created by the Clokey Productions Studio.
