1941 г. В Ленинградский военкомат приходит седовласый старик по фамилии Морозов, ему уже 87 лет. Несмотря на преклонный возраст, мужчина просится на фронт. Там, на передовой, он хочет вернуть свой долг Родине, расплатившись таким образом за ошибки революционного прошлого своего народа. А дедушка хочет найти соседского мальчика Илью, который часто приезжал к нему в гости в мирное время и бежал на фронт, чтобы защищать город и страну от немецко-фашистских захватчиков.
1941 A gray-haired old man by the name of Morozov comes to the Leningrad draft board, he is already 87 years old. Despite his advanced age, the man asks to go to the front. There, at the forefront, he wants to pay back his debt to his homeland, thus paying for the mistakes of his people's revolutionary past. And the grandfather wants to find the neighbor boy Ilya, who often came to visit him in peacetime, and who fled to the front to defend the city and the country from the Nazi invaders.
