The scrolls of Kumr'an are among the most precious treasures of human civilization. They contain all scrolls of the Jewish Bible (except Esther scroll), and many previously unknown books, which shed light to the sectarian beliefs of the late Second Temple age in Judea under Roman rule. The books proved to remain unchanged through two millenia of rewriting by Jewish scholars, proving the ancient roots of Judean culture and religion. Sectarians of Kumran are thought to spark the fire of rebellion against the Roman empire with their apocalyptic prophecies of doom's day and the battle of light and dark.
