Kutaka lives in India and is a disciple of the monk Luntika. One day, Luntika sends Kutaka to fetch some cakes from the other side of the city. Kutaka picks up eight cream tarts for Luntika, but on his way home, he is so tempted by the tarts that he decides that since the monk will surely share the cakes with him, half of the eight cakes will be for him and he eats four tarts. His hunger grows and he repeats the same calculation until only a half of a tart is left. But as he hands it over to Luntika, he decides it’s so small that he finishes it off. Luntika never sent him on an errand like that again.
