Zaheer Bhatkar is a member of the Maqsood gang and operates in Bombay while Maqsood operates the gang from Dubai. One fine day, Zaheer finds himself in a shootout situation in which Raghu Mhatre ends up dead at the hands of Zaheer. Raghu Mhatre was also a member of the Maqsood gang and Nana Mhatre’s brother. After Raghu ends up dead, Zaheer ends up on the wrong side of both the gangs, Maqsood and Nana Mhatre. With Zaheer and Ashraf’s life in danger, what will be Zaheer’s next step? How will he save his and his wife’s life?
While life is looking bleak for Zaheer and Ashraf following Raghu Mhatre’s death as they are living in a state of constant fear for their life, a ray of hope enters their life with the news of Ashraf’s pregnancy. When the happy couple is busy celebrating the news of the new arrival, they are surprised by an attack from the members of the Nana Mhatre gang. The manage to escape unscathed somehow and this narrow escape forces Zaheer to think of his family and their safety, which leads Zaheer to an important decision. What is the decision that Zaheer thinks will guarantee his family’s safety?
Zaheer makes a critical and important decision to step out of the underworld and leave the gang peacefully so that he can live his life in peace with his wife and his baby, which is yet to be born. He arranges a meeting with Maqsood in Dubai to talk to him about his exit from the gang and the life in the underworld. While Zaheer is in Dubai hoping to have a peaceful conclusion to his meeting, Nana Mhatre and his gang are busy wiping off Zaheer’s men in Bombay so that he returns to Bombay and does not have any safe place to be. What fate awaits Zaheer when he returns to Bombay?
Inspector Tawde has Zaheer in his custody after kidnapping him from the Bombay airport and he decides to play dirty due to his greed. He demands a ransom from Zaheer’s family while taking money from Nana Mhatre for killing him. While Tawde contemplates what to do, Zaheer struggles and manages to fight back. But before Zaheer’s fightback can lead to his heroic escape, he is bettered by Nana Mhatre and is killed brutally. While Zaheer is no more in the world, Ashraf gets a piece of shocking news. What is the shocking news that she receives? Is the news about Zaheer’s death?
Ashraf is left devasted to hear about Zaheer’s death and is beyond consoling. She decides to fight back and gets in touch with a young and dynamic journalist named Anjali. She narrates the entire story to Anjali and manages to convince her to help her. Anjali conducts her research and successfully exposes Inspector Tawde and Bhoir in an extremely shocking way. Inspector Tawde is livid after being exposed and decides to get some dirt himself and manages to find out the connection between Anjali and Ashraf. What will be Inspector Tawde’s next step? Will he want revenge for being exposed?
Following the successful exposure of Inspector Tawde and Bhoir, Ashraf moves to court against the big guns and hopes to get her justice at the hands of the law. She files a case against Nana Mhatre for her husband’s death but due to Nana Mhatre’s connections with influential politicians, Ashraf is handed a heartbreaking defeat in the courthouse. To make matters worse, Iqbal Khan, an eye-witness of Zaheer’s murder is arrested by sub-inspector Vikram Bhosle and Ashraf’s last hope to her justice is also lost. What will be Ashraf’s next step? Will she give up hope completely?
After tasting a humiliating defeat in the courthouse, Ashraf understands that the legal way won’t get her anywhere and her revenge will remain incomplete. But instead of deflating her spirits, the courthouse defeat enrages her further and she decides to take the twisted way to have her revenge. She tries to get in touch with Chavan Bhai, Maqsood’s rival, to ask for his help. After Chavan Bhai refuses to help Ashraf, she decides to step in the underworld herself and exact her revenge. With this aim in mind, Ashraf dies and Sapna is born, a dance bar dancer, who aims to connect with as many people as possible to get as close to Maqsood and Nana Mhatre as possible.
After seizing the drugs, Vikram Bhosle becomes a hero in front of the media and earns appreciation from all directions. On the other hand, Union leader Joshi meets with the Home Minister to tell him about the demands of the labourers in the mills. A close aide of Nana Mhatre, Swatya reaches the bar and instantly falls for Ashraf, who now dances at the bar in the disguise and false name of Sapna. Ashraf makes him jealous by dancing with Bhai Chavan’s loyal, Tandel. The inebriated Swatya then opens fire at Tandel and takes Sapna back to his home. However, Sapna challenges him to do something that Swatya would not even think of? Will the lustful Swatya take on the challenge to woo Sapna?
After Swatya shoots fire on inspector Tawde and Bhoir, Tawde runs from there while Bhoir gets admitted. Tawde is now on the lookout for Swatya and knocks the doors of Nana Mhatre, but it is no luck as Swatya is nowhere to be seen. Later, Nana Mhatre himself meets with Swatya and asks him about his ordeal. A while later, Swatya calls Sapna once again and she invites him to meet her in a hotel room at 9 PM. Swatya is unable to resist Sapna’s charm and agrees to meet with her. On the other hand, Ashraf goes for the big kill, and for the first time, she murders someone brutally. Who does Ashraf kill? Ashraf’s plan to trap Swtaya fails, and she is now stuck in an unfortunate situation. However, someone unexpected comes to her rescue in the nick of time. Meanwhile, Nana comes to know about Swatya’s death and vows to find the person behind it before the dawn of day. On the other hand, Bhala Mama gets to know about Sapna’s real identity. Ashraf sees this as an opportunity and shakes hands with Nana Mhatre to expose Bala Mama’s location. Elsewhere, Mr Joshi, the union leader, is found dead and Vikram Bhosle sets out to find the murderers. As one after the other, all the people get eliminated, someone unlikely stops at the bar to meet Ashraf. What does a person want? Do they know about Ashraf’s involvement with the murders? Anjali and Ashraf get talking and Anjali tells her that her means of getting justice is not right. Ashraf is able to lure Bala Mama and trap him to go out with her. She then tips off their location to Nana Mhatre’s men who kill Bala Mama brutally. Nana, who still knows Ashraf as Sapna, gives her a huge sum of money to reward her. Ashraf however, demands more than money from Nana and successfully gets herself a safe place to stay at Nana’s residence. Nana Mhatre hates women and he thinks that involving a woman in life is a potential threat to business. Despite knowing this, Ashraf seduces Nana and spends a lot of time with him. Just when she finds enough information to use against him, she informs Vikram Bhosale about Nana’s incoming drug shipment.
Ashraf is able to reach the Home Minister’s den and goes in there as Sapna. She seduces him and seeing the correct time, goes out to find evidence against him. She sees huge packages of drugs and Mr Joshi’s murderers at Ganpat Rao’s farmhouse. Ashraf immediately calls Vikram and tells him about the drugs as Sapna. However, will she be able to come out of this deed unnoticed by the Home Minister? Later, Vikram finds Mr Joshi’s killers along with the drugs at the Home Minister’s farmhouse and takes them into custody. He then raids Nana Mhatre’s house, but Ashraf is also hiding there. Will Vikram see Ashraf? How will he react when he gets to know Ashraf’s truth?
Vikram finds Ashraf at Nana Mhatre’s house. He takes Nana into custody and Nana senses a connection between Sapna and Vikram. On the other hand, Ashraf tells Anjali about Ganpat Rao’s arrest and the news of the Home Minister being imprisoned travels like wildfire. Nana Mhatre employs Tawde to dig the truth about Ashraf. Tawde sets on an investigation and finds out that Sapna is, in fact, Ashraf, Zaheer’s wife. Vikram finds out the truth about Ashraf and after knowing her intentions, marries her. Later, Ashraf meets with Anjali and asks Anjali to help her get to Sharjah, where she has to give a shot to her final plan. Will Anjali help her? Will Nana let Ashraf go after knowing her truth? What does Asraf have in Sharjah?
In the final episode of Ek Thi Begum, Ashraf decides to go to Sharjah to kill Maqsood who is sure to attend the India- Pakistan cricket match. To get there Ashraf gets help for several people and many of Zaheer’s acquaintances. On the other hand, Tawde finds out that Vikram got married, and that too he married Ashraf. Once Ashraf comes to know that Tawde knows her truth she conveniently eliminates him. Next, she arranges for Nana and Bhai Chavan to meet her at the Sassoon Dock. The news reaches Vikram’s department and he too sets off to the dock. As all parties arrive at the dock before they could raise that it is Ashraf’s plan, a crossfire starts and Nana gets seriously injured in the encounter, while Bhai Chavan runs away. At the same time, some men attack Ashraf in her house leaving her fighting for her life. Will she make it? Will her revenge be over?
