The trio meet for the first time when they move into their picturesque Provencal villa.Their challenges include telling a joke to complete strangers, becoming a newspaper reporter and working as delivery drivers.
Their challenge at the end of the second week is to run a top class restaurant on their own. But Big Ron, the sommelier, struggles with the simplest descriptions of wines and falls out with his tutor, chef Marcus's mispronunciation lands him in trouble and Esther is less than happy having to play the role of waitress.
Ron is making little progress and his relationship with his teacher Christine hits a new low. Marcus is becoming concerned that his routine is failing miserably with the French, while Esther is becoming disenchanted. Their challenge this week is to work as tour guides in St Tropez.
It's the last week and the students have just five days to prepare for their ultimate challenge - to attempt to do their day jobs in French. Ron will be a pundit for national radio at a Paris St-Germain match, Marcus will perform a stand-up routine at a comedy venue and Esther will be interviewing a French politician.
