Paul Jackson Pollock (1912-1956) Jackson Pollock's large-scale abstract paintings are recognised world-wide as one of the twentieth century's most unique and important visual statements. He is synonymous with the myth and legend of the "live fast, die young" male artist genius. He is believed by many to have re-invented painting and was hugely influential for the development of modern and contemporary art.
