  • S01E01 Gone Fishing - 2011

    [NSW] Eurobodalla Coast Rock fishing is ‘THE’ most dangerous sport in the world, but many anglers still love to fish the rocks for the challenge. In this episode, Rob teams up with Rock fishing guru Ray Smith in an attempt to land the elusive Jewfish from some of the most unforgiving terrain on Australia’s East Coast. The target is the most prized species in the surf zone, but whilst hooking Jewfish is one thing...landing them on rocks like these is another. A multitude of hidden Australian beaches and headlands are brought to life in an emotional, adrenaline charged adventure.

Join Rob on a wild goose chase with a purpose as he tracks down some local characters who just might help him track down some fish... Along the way, Rob engages the help of publicans, farmers, jackaroos, pilots, cops and other colourful locals, visits Lake Eyre, Cooper Creek, the largest cattle station in the world...and the smallest town in Australia - permanent population of 3...and a dog.

    Rob visits a remote indigenous community in the Tiwi Islands, Northern Territory to meet up with Andy Warton who started the “Off the Hook” program uniting local police with indigenous kids through their commonly loved pastime of fishing. The program teaches traditional mud crab hunting and how to source a feed of XL local clams. Then as an extra treat, the indigenous Marine Rangers, who patrol the region for illegal fishing and ghost nets, show Rob their work, before demonstrating just how good fishing can be when regulations are enforced properly.

    Rob visits Western Australia's Coral Coast which lays claim to the largest and most accessible fringing coral reef in the world; Ningaloo Reef and to some of the best Billfish fishing in the world. He teams up with ‘the Coral Coast Kid’ – pint sized 8 year old Hayden Michaels who has several national and state billfish tagging titles to his name. Hayden's amazing eyesight and relentless enthusiasm for fishing results in an amazing capture. Back in the shallows gun female angler Jae Bruynzeel illustrates how to catch the tasty Spangled Emperor from her kayak but an imposter lays out one of Jae’s biggest piscatorial challenges yet.

Blue Wiggle Anthony Fields and Purple Wiggle Jeff Fatt are old mates that produce plenty of laughs when they get together to go fishing off the set. But being in such high demand, their time on the water is limited, so Rob’s mission is to show them the quickest way to catch fish and make the most of their time on the water.   • S01E09 Barramundi Dreaming - 2011

    Home Valley is a working cattle station in the East Kimberley, overlooked by the Cockburn Ranges which featured spectacularly in “Australia” the movie. Deep beyond this setting live indigenous people who are spiritually connected to this fish and are raised to catch barramundi. Rob travels by Four Wheel Drive, Boat and even Horseback into remote Kimberley territory, learning new and remarkable facts about the traditional owners of the land and the famous fish they pursue.

  • S01E10 In search of Sawfish - 2011

    Is it a shark, is it a fish? Rob ventures into the Kimberley’s to track down this unique prehistoric predator, a rare species that can grow up to 20 feet long, characterised by a long snout lined with chainsaw like teeth. A dangerous opponent, the Sawfish is a rarely seen but fascinating species, sometimes called the “chainsaw predator”. Rob engages the help of a local expert to help find this elusive marauder and help overcome the challenges of shark and crocodile infested waters. To make things even more difficult, the mysterious Sawfish are sometimes best found in the darkness of the night!

  • S01E11 From the shallows to the deep - 2011

    Rob and team embark on a mission to fish from the shallowest parts of an estuary, just knee deep, into the ocean and past the continental shelf where it is over 1000 fathoms deep. Along the way they find remarkably different habitats and fish that have developed unique features in order to survive in those habitats. Set amongst the backdrop of some of Australia's most beautiful coastlines join Rob as he fishes from the shallows to the deep.
