  • S01E01 The First Trial

    On his way to Togo Memorial Hospital, Shindo Minato encounters a child, Kota, who needs medical help. He performs first aid on Kota that saved his life. This was captured on video by onlookers and becomes viral. He joins the hospital as a resident doctor, but his colleagues don't like him because he's different. He takes on his first patient, Kashiwagi Masaki, who has rhabdomyosarcoma. Can he do his job as a doctor well and prove himself to his colleagues?

    Yuina, a high school student, gives birth prematurely at the Togo Memorial Hospital with the baby having necrotic enteritis. According to the hospital's policy, surgery cannot be performed if the chances of survival is bleak, so the doctors opt for conservative treatment. The baby's condition worsens and Shindo suggests a surgery, but as a minor, Yuina can't sign the surgery consent form, and her mom refuses to sign it either. With no consent form and the doctors themselves are against the surgery, will the baby survive?

    Miyu, a six-year-old child, has strangulated intestinal obstruction. As hospitals reject her, she is then sent to Togo Memorial Hospital after four hours. No doctors want to perform surgery on her besides Dr. Seto, who tries her best to save Miyu, but fails. Miyu's family sues Dr. Seto and she loses confidence in her surgical skills. Another patient, Mai, requires surgery and wants Dr. Seto to perform it. Will Dr. Seto regain confidence or quit being a pediatric surgeon?

    Akari, a child who refuses to say a word, collapses at a park. Her identity is unknown until her stepmom, Kaoru, arrive. After Dr. Shindo learns about Akari's real situation, he refuses to give her to Kaoru, and causes a big commotion. Dr. Shindo refuses to provide any explanation to keep his promise with Akari. Will Dr. Shindo get dismissed from the hospital? Will Akari's dad know the truth?

Will Dr. Shindo be able to convince his father? Meanwhile, Dr. Takayama wants to transfer Dr. Shindo to the diagnostic imaging department.

    Mizuno Rika is pregnant and suffers from peripartum cardiomyopathy. The baby inside her womb has lymphangioma, which might block her airways. Surgery needs to be performed in order to save the child, but the surgical risk is very high as it will take a toll on the mom's heart. Meanwhile, Minato's dad sees Minato on TV and goes to Togo Memorial Hospital to look for him. Minato is very happy to see his dad, but his dad may have other motives. Minato finds out the truth about his brother's death.

    Kurata Nanako, a former patient of Dr. Seto is getting married. She brings her fiancé, Kentaro, to Togo Memorial Hospital so that Dr. Seto can explain that Nanako has only one ovary left. Despite the doubts he was having, Kentaro still decides to marry her. After a few days, Nanako gets admitted to the hospital and the doctors suspect a brain disease. Will she survive to get her happily ever after? Meanwhile, the president decides to reform the hospital into a hospice care hospital for the elderly.

    Hayano Haruto move to Tokyo with his mom Kaori and his brother Shota to receive treatment from Dr. Takayama. Because of this, Shota transfers to another school and leaves his dad in Nagano. His mom doesn't have much time for him because she's busy with Haruto and Shota resents Haruto as a result. Afterwards, Haruto requires emergency surgery while Shota is out having fun with friends. Dr. Takayama isn't able to help as he is performing another surgery. Will Haruto survive? Will Shota regret the things he said?

Ryohei's mom wants to transfer Ryohei to another hospital because a 'friend' told her that the pediatric surgery department will be abolished from the hospital. He requires surgery to alleviate the pressure on his brain or else he might lose consciousness. Meanwhile, Iyo requires a small intestines donor and her sister is a match. However, Iyo refuses surgery. If she doesn't undergo surgery, another infection will threaten her life. Will Minato be able to convince her?

  • S01E10 Living On

    Iyo requires simultaneous liver and small intestines transplant, which is unprecedented in Togo Memorial Hospital and Dr. Takayama also has no such experience. Because of this, the Board of Directors do not agree for surgery to be performed there. However, Iyo's condition does not allow her to be transferred to another hospital. Meanwhile, Misaki is a sweet kid who drowned and who had cardiac arrest when she was sent to the Togo Memorial Hospital. She was saved, but chances are very slim for her to regain consciousness. Will Iyo and Misaki be saved?
