Netrpeljivost Zeljine i Gorčilove porodice traje već godinama. Do novih nesporazuma među njima dolazi kada se njihovi kandidati bore za mesto predsednika opštine. Zeljina ćerka, Koviljka, koja je ostala u drugom stanju sa Gorčilovim sinom, Petrašinom, ispraća svog momka u vojsku. Nad njihovim aktuelnim nedaćama pojavljuje se i senka prošlosti vezana za njihovog suseda koja je, nepravedno optužen, robijao na Golom otoku.
