小さな映画製作会社に勤める丈一（中居正広）は、次回作の子役にぴったりの直也（神木隆之介）に声をかけた。しかし、誘拐目的と誤解されさんざんな目に遭う。有名小説家の作品を映画化したいと向かった出版社では、その作家の編集担当者・明子（鶴田真由）からきっぱり断られてしまう。
