Hercules hilft der ägyptischen Prinzessin Anuket bei der Suche nach einer gestohlenen Mumie. Diese ist, sobald sie zum Leben erwacht, für alle Menschen in ihrer Umgebung eine tödliche Gefahr. Auch Hohepriester Sokar ist hinter dem verstorbenen Pharao her: Er will dessen Macht für seine finsteren Vorhaben einsetzen. Salmoneus, immer auf der Suche nach lukrativen Geschäften, ersteigert unwissend die gesuchte Mumie.
Awakened by robbers, the mummy Ishtar walked again. Hercules set out to find the mummy with Ishtar's descendant, Princess Anuket. But the evil Sokar was also after the mummy. Sokar acquired the mummy's powerful golden pendant known as the ankh from Salmoneus and prepared to take over the Egyptian throne with the unwilling Anuket at his side. But Sokar was killed by the mummy, who absorbed his life force and grew to enormous size. Hercules defeated the mummy by giving the wrappings a mighty yank, unraveling the corpse. The skeleton spun helplessly into a pool of hot wax.

La tomba del grande faraone d’Egitto, Ishtar, viene profanata da alcuni ladri che rubano il corpo mummificato del faraone. La bellissima principessa Anuket arriva ad Attica per chiedere ad Hercules di aiutarla a recuperare la mummia che si è nel frattempo risvegliata. Anche il malvagio sacerdote Sokar è alla ricerca della mummia, convinto che il suo potere lo aiuterà a sposare Anuket permettendogli così di salire al trono.
Despertada por unos ladrones, la momia Ishtar volvió a caminar. Hércules partió en busca de la momia con la descendiente de Ishtar, la princesa Anuket. Pero el malvado Sokar también iba tras la momia. Sokar adquirió de Salmoneus el poderoso colgante de oro de la momia, conocido como el ankh, y se preparó para hacerse con el trono egipcio con la renuente Anuket a su lado. Pero Sokar fue asesinado por la momia, que absorbió su fuerza vital y creció hasta alcanzar un tamaño descomunal. Anuket, az egyiptomi hercegnő azt parancsolja Herculesnek, hogy segítsen neki megtalálni egy ellopott múmiát. Hercules azonban nincsen hozzászokva, hogy arrogáns módon utasítgassák, s ezért elutasítja a hercegnőt. Hamarosan megtudja, hogy a hercegnő félelme nem volt alaptalan. A múmia ugyanis felébredt és emberi életre éhes. Ez az, arra készteti a hőst, hogy a hercegnő segítségével a múmia nyomába eredjen. Az élőhalott üldözésében azonban nem csak ő, hanem a gonosz varázsló Sokar is meg akarja azt találni. Sokar ugyanis fel akarja használni a múmia képességeit arra, hogy megszerezze a fáraó trónját...
