In Brussel ontdekt Frederique dat het gevaar groter is dan één land aan kan en dat de dreiging niet ophoudt bij Nederland, maar diep in Europese instituties is doorgedrongen. After the hostage situation, the city transforms into a powder keg. Riots, retaliation, and fear engulf the Netherlands. As the streets explode and Joëlle follows leads to Brussels, Mardik realizes the terrorists now have his family directly in their sights. In Brussels, Frederique discovers that the danger is greater than any one country can handle and that the threat isn't limited to the Netherlands but has penetrated deep into European institutions. The violence in the streets turns out to be part of a network bent on disrupting Europe.
