    The High Mountain Rangers go head to head with three escaped prisoners, one of whom is the mortal enemy of Jesse Hawkes, (Robert Conrad) the man who created The High Mountain Rangers. Meanwhile, one of the Rangers and Jesse's younger son Cody Hawkes (Shane Conrad) go searching for the survivors of a downed airplane. Three men break out of Folsom prison, including serial killer T.J. Cousins. The High Mountain Rangers are called in to investigate after a body is found and a camper has been stolen from the victim.     An earthquake hits the Tahoe area, and Jesse and Cody must convince an old man and his granddaughter to leave the mountain for safer shelter while the rangers try to rescue some spelunkers trapped in a cave.

    Jesse's old friend Buck Dawkins (Buck Taylor) comes to Tahoe with his daughter, Haley. The Rangers are sent to find Buck because he's been charged with kidnapping Haley. Cody leads the Rangers on a wild goose chase.

    T.J. Cousins' brother Bernie Cousins presses murder charges against Jesse Hawkes, who goes to trial because there is a lot of money missing. A Beverly Hills Attorney that Matt Hawkes rescued takes Jesse's case. Cody Hawkes and Ranger Robin Kelly search for evidence to clear Jesse.

    Cody Hawkes meets a camping family with a number of hearing-and speaking-impaired teenagers. When a bear invades the campsite, two of the girls disappear, and Cody and the Rangers work to track the girls down before hunters enrage a now-wounded bear into becoming an even greater threat.

    A family on vacation in the mountains is playing wargames with paint pellets, but one of them uses real ammo to kill a member of their party. Cody Hawkes sees the murder and escapes back to the cabin, but the family chases after him and lays seige to the cabin. Jesse sends Cody to climb down Dead Drop Wall, the only way to catch the Rangers, who are out of Tahoe doing mountain maneuvers.
