The Serra family has always been on the move due to Juan's military service. But now that he's nearing retirement, he and his family are settling down for good in San Antonio, Texas. They currently live in a 5 bedroom rental, but since the new place will be their 'forever' house, Miranda wants everything to be perfect and isn't concerned about money. High on her list are granite counters, hard wood floors and a swimming pool. Juan, on the other hand, keeps his eyes on the bottom line and doesn't want to go overboard. To help them in their search, the Serras have enlisted the help of realtor Marian Swanson. Who will win out in the end - Miranda or Juan?
