Xand also investigates how exposure to extreme temperatures can affect weight loss and finds out if chewing for longer can help the calorie count.

This time, Daria and Emma have seven days to slim down for a birthday bash; bridesmaids Emma and Elisa go on six week dieting plans for a forthcoming wedding; and entrepreneurs Dom and Adam want to slim down for a corporate summer party in four months. To find out how fasting affects body and mind, Xand goes on an extreme 'water-only' fast, and investigates if so called 'zero calorie' and 'negative calorie' foods really exist.

    This week, Stefanie and Jade from Harrow have just 10 days to slim down before the launch of their clothing label. Sugar fiend Stefanie goes cold turkey on the No Sugar Diet. Jade test drives the Low Fat Diet, filling up on lean protein and fibre. Fast food junkies Matt from Redditch and Robb from the Wirral battle the bulge before a university reunion in six weeks' time. Matt is on the Warrior Diet, eating like an ancient soldier. Rob is given the Sleeping Beauty Diet, sleeping more to allow his body to optimize hormones that control his appetite and metabolism.

    This time the diet crashers are Amber and Roisin, with just ten days to slim down for Amber's graduation day. Amber tries the mono meal diet while Roisin is on the Dukan diet of lean protein, oat bran and water. The shapeshifters are Gerry and Leighton, on six week diet plans for Leighton's wedding, with Gerry testing the abs diet and Leighton the South Beach. The life changers are Janet and Carol, with four months to test out the DNA diet and the apples and pears weight loss regime. There's also a look at vitamin drips and placenta pills.

    Diet crashers Emma and Kaye have 10 days to slim down for the races. Emma tries out the baby food diet, consuming up to 14 jars of baby food a day, while Kaye sticks to a strict 70:30 ratio of veg to protein on the omni diet. Meanwhile, shapeshifters Eve and Kate go on six-week dieting plans before their holidays. Eve tries out the bland diet, designed to minimise gut irritation with low-fibre and low-fat foods, while Kate is given the champagne diet and can indulge in one glass of bubbly per day, accompanied by strictly calorie-controlled meals. And life changers Jan and Alexa want to slim down for the fifth anniversary of their tea shop. Jan tries the high-protein, low-carb leptin diet, while Alexa is on the serotonin power diet, which allows comforting carbs to increase the mood-enhancing hormone serotonin. Dr Xand tries out laser lipolysis to get rid of his belly fat and investigates if gastric balloons can lead to weight loss without the risks of surgery.
