唐代帝陵依山为陵，气势雄伟，呈扇形环绕在京都长安周围，和长安城以及宫殿群一起构成全国等级最高、密度最大的唐代文物、文化遗址景区。然而时过境迁，唐陵和长安城的地表建筑已经所剩无几，仅留多出夯土遗址和部分残存石刻供后人遐想哀叹。
