世界中を混乱させ続ける新型コロナウイルス。日本でも緊急事態宣言が発出され、人々は外出自粛という忘れられない経験をした。映画界でも映画館の休館、撮影休止などが相次いだが、そんな中で企画されたのが本シリーズだ。「思うようにできない」制限は、逆に発想力を掻き立て、新しい体験を生み出すチャンスになるのでは？その思いから「緊急事態」という一つのテーマが設定され、映画づくりがスタートした。世界に暗いムードが漂う中、映画の力で笑顔や活力を生み出してみせよう、と。５組の監督が集い、それぞれ全く異なるアプローチで、全く違う５つの映画をつくる。「感染拡大防止を徹底すること」以外は、本編尺、ジャンル、言語など、一切不問。すべては監督の自由な選択に任される。その結果完成した作品は、どれもが全くオリジナルで新しい、今しか作り得ない新時代のエンターテイメントだった。誰も予想できない５つの「緊急事態」をとくとご覧あれ！
