    It's day one at vet school for the six new junior vets and new mentor, Alex Riley. The junior vets get their hands on cute wriggling piglets that need their vitamins, a huge horse that may be having a baby and tiny kittens in need of a new home. Over the coming weeks, Alex will be at their side as they take on some really extreme vet jobs. And at the end of their journey, the top dog will be named head vet by Alex.

    A wild boar kicks up a big fuss just before surgery, Bonte and Nyatepe look inside little dog Marley and Robyn and Molly help a poorly cow with a blocked nose. It might only be their second day at vet school but mischievous mentor Alex has lined up some huge vet jobs for them to tackle.

    There is a real emergency during an operation on three-year-old rabbit Patches. And the junior vets are called to help a family of goats who need to have their overgrown hooves trimmed. Also, 32,000 patients may be suffering from a mystery disease at a poultry farm. The competition for the head vet title is hotting up as some of the junior vets confront their deepest fears and phobias.

    The junior vets go swimming with critically endangered sharks to find out if one of them is pregnant with shark pups. Plus they take control of vet duties at the pet show and judge all sorts of animals, including guinea pigs, chickens, puppies and a bearded dragon. They also need to do tricky surgery on little dog Nisha, who damaged her knee while playing with a ball.

So, who is the winner of the prestigious head vet title?
