文久3年6月。 京都・壬生浪士組屯所に記憶を失ったひとりの隊士が運び込まれる。 そんな彼に手を差し伸べたのは壬生浪士組助勤・沖田総司。 「あなたの名前は立川迅助ですよ」 そして始まる記憶喪失の迅助の、隊士としての日々。 図らずも幕末の混迷のなか壬生浪士組――新選組はその存在感を増していき、迅助、そして新選組は激動の波に呑まれていく。 そして迅助がすべての記憶を取り戻したとき世界は大きな変貌を遂げる。
