Nagate und sein Team kämpfen einen harten Kampf gegen das Gauna 549. Unterstützt werden sie dabei von einer neuen Gaunaart, die sich selbst Tsumugi Shiraui nennt.
A brutal attack of the Chimera, the new Human-Gauna Hybrid, destroys the remains of the Giant Gauna. Captain Kobayashi seems to be in league with Kunato (Ochiai) and other infested Sidonia crew members. The Chimera, Tsumugi Shiraui, introduces herself to the Sidonia crew as a human mind controlling a Gauna vessel. However Ochiai's experiments with Human-Gauna hybrids almost destroyed the Sidonia 100 years ago. Tsumugi Shiraui responds emotionally strong to Tanikaze's presence. Because of Captain Kobayashi involvement with the Chimera project, the Sidonia supreme council decides to remove her from here position. However before they can make this happen Ochiai’s clone murders the entire supreme council.
Nagate et son escadron livrent une dure bataille contre le Gauna 549 et sont aidés par l'apparition d'un Gauna d'un nouveau type se faisant appeler Tsumugi Shiraui.

シドニアの進路上に現れた新たな奇居子ガ５４９に苦戦する長道たち。するとそこへ白羽衣つむぎと名乗る新型奇居子が姿を現す。ガ５４９に攻撃を仕掛けるつむぎに言葉を失う衛人隊だったが、同士討ちをしている隙に両者の撃破を画策。 しかし、長道はつむぎが敵でないことを察知し、ガ５４９の撃破を手助けする。
つむぎが発する声は、かつて仲間だった星白閑を思わせる声で……。
가우나를 공격하는 가우나의 등장에 당황하는 모리토 부대. 자신의 이름을 시라우이 츠무기라 밝힌 그 가우나는 재차 공격에 나서기 시작한다.
Con su cañón destruido, Tsumugi ataca al Gauna 549 con sus manos desnudas, mientras Nagate se interpone para salvarla de una trampa por parte del Gauna. Tras la batalla, la identidad del misterioso Gauna amistoso Tsumugi es revelada.
