Izana findet heraus, dass ihr „Date“ mit Nagate nur eine Falle war und stürmt davon. Bald darauf soll sie sich einem Erkundungstrupp für Planet Nine anschließen.
Nagate and Izana continue their visit while Yuhata and Tsumugi find a way to eavesdrop on them. Izana soon discovers that Nagate was set up by her grandmother. Meanwhile Sidonia arrives at the Lem Star System. A reconnaissance party of four pilots is send out, acompanied with a new propulsion and weapon system " the Hayakaze", to scout planet Lem IX. Izana is assigned last minute as a replacement pilot. In Lem IX orbit Izana detects an unknown object which is revealed of being a new type of armored Gauna. Both Nagate and Tsumugi watch the mission feed helplessly as Izana and her team struggle against it.
Izana est furieuse quand elle apprend que son rendez-vous avec Nagate était un coup monté. Peu après, elle est appelée pour partir en reconnaissance sur la Planète 9.
Izana scopre che l'appuntamento con Nagate era una trappola e si precipita a casa. Poco dopo, entra a far parte della squadra incaricata di individuare il Pianeta Nove.
シドニア随一の景勝地、千秋郷(せんしゅうきょう)にやってきた長道とイザナ。満開の桜に包まれた２人はその距離を縮めていくが、長道はあくまでも調査だと言い切って任務を着々とこなしていった。一方、置いてきぼりを食らった纈(ゆはた)とつむぎは、２人の関係を邪魔しようと千秋郷への潜入を敢行する。満点の夜空を眺める長道とイザナ、そんな２人の様子を覗く纈とつむぎ。しかし、纈とつむぎはそこである光景を目にする。
유레의 계략에 따라 이자나와 함께 시도니아의 명승지 천추향으로 향한 나가테. 유하타와 츠무기는 그런 두 사람의 동향이 신경 쓰여 견딜 수가 없었는데...
Nagate e Izana visitan el pueblo milenario, quedando impresionados por sus flores de cerezo y construcciones, mientras que Yuhata y Tsumugi buscan la manera de espiarlos. Sin embargo, Izana descubre que realmente su abuela había ordenado a Nagate ir allí con ella, pensando que Nagate realmente no quería estar allí con ella por voluntad propia y solo acudió cumpliendo las instrucciones de Yure.
