由三个家庭的喜怒哀乐展现养老困局现象ː 江木兰（刘涛饰）和吕希（张铎饰）是一对在北京工作的夫妻，因为两人都是第一代独生子女，赡养老人的担子比较沉重，上有老下有小都要照顾，夫妻2人因老人的赡养问题而产生了矛盾；雷颂华（刘蓓饰）是江木兰的上司，是一名女强人事业有成家庭稳定，但是也因为父母的事情烦心；余淼（乔振宇饰），在母亲全心全意的照料下得以安稳成长，是一名啃老的儿子，他的妻子田咪對余淼的母親百般的不尊重,最後因詐騙而被迫坐牢。
